Sider Omni Sidebar - Give every Mac app an Agent Sidebar
An AI agent beside any Mac app. Sider Omni sidebar sees what's on your screen and acts on it directly, right where you're working. Watch the result, ask for the next change. Nothing to copy, nothing to upload.
Built on GPT-6 Astra, and it can run on your existing ChatGPT or Codex credits.

how does it handle sensitive data or private code on screen whe reading the active window?
Sider Omni Sidebar
@jabari_zuri In windows with sensitive data, the best approach is not to launch it.
@jabari_zuri In the default Ask for approval mode, Sider Omni asks for your confirmation before reading sensitive information or private code from the active window. Only after you approve is the relevant content sent to your selected AI service for processing.
Promomix
can it interact with non native web apps inside browser windows or just desktop apps?
@margret_rhyme It works across native desktop apps, Safari, browser-based web apps, and even apps with custom-drawn interfaces. Chrome also has a dedicated Sider Operator extension for more powerful browser use.
Sider Omni Sidebar
@margret_rhyme The browser is an app too, so of course it works there as well, but it can't operate the page as efficiently as our extension product does—it can only work through computer use.
am seeing what is on screen without uploading files is definitely how all desktop ai tools should work.
@alira_salu That was a big reason we built Sider Omni. It stays with the app you’re using, understands what’s in the window when you need help, and can get the task done without making you upload files or copy and paste everything first.
Sider Omni Sidebar
@alira_salu Yes, you can give it a try.

I am just downloaded it to test with VS Code! curious to see how well it picks up code context without manual prompts.
@adams_parker Awesome—would love to hear how it goes! When you start a task in VS Code, Sider Omni can understand the code context in the current window without making you copy it into the chat first.
Sider Omni Sidebar
@adams_parker Thank you, Adams, I would really appreciate it if you could share your feedback with me.
The no copy and no upload workflow is an interesting approach. Does it keep any screen content locally when working with sensitive apps?
Sider Omni Sidebar
@seanfalconer There will be a cache, and you can clear it periodically. A clear cache button will be added in settings later.
One of my friend was showing me a similar screen agent last week and honestly not having to copy paste stuff into chatgpt saves so much time.
Sider Omni Sidebar
@evelyn_swaim Thank you, Evelyn, it's worthy to try.
@evelyn_swaim Yeah, the copy-paste loop gets old fast. Sider Omni stays beside the app you’re using, understands the current window when you need help, and works on the task right there.
The screen awareness is the part I’m most curious about. How does Omni handle apps with sensitive information or screen?
@ben_d3 For any app or screen, Sider Omni only reads the relevant window when you explicitly start a task that requires screen context. It never reads information proactively.
Sider Omni Sidebar
@ben_d3 Simple, just don't run Omni on that window.
Having the agent right beside the app feels much more natural than constantly switching between tabs. I can see this being useful for everyday Mac work.
@awesome_america Thank you! That’s exactly why we built Sider Omni—to keep AI beside the app you’re using, reduce context switching, and fit naturally into everyday Mac work.
Sider Omni Sidebar
@awesome_america Yes, definitely give it a try, and feel free to reach out to me with any feedback.
The sidebar concept is simple but practical. Having help available without leaving the app could make a big difference repetitive work.
@desire_waterman That’s exactly what we wanted to solve! Sider Omni stays beside the app you’re using, cutting down on app switching and copy-pasting to make everyday repetitive work a lot easier.
Sider Omni Sidebar
@desire_waterman Thank you, Desire, definitely give it a try
