This product (which is a takeover/rebrand of our Arrive app) is a true labour of love which has been in the works at Shopify for the past few years. @melwingsanhuang Cool! Just checking it out. Is there a way to discover/browse brands without searching them? I’m not much of a brand person so I don’t know what to search for but I’d be interested in finding things and browsing products.

@izzydoesizzy Hi Izzy! Your 'Shops' tab should populate with recommendations based on the brands you've shopped from at Shopify. It does this through syncing with your gmail. Hope that helps!

I've been wondering when Shopify would experiment with product curation and direct commerce. The company's in a strong position (think of all the data it collects) to create something unique in an otherwise crowded space. Well done, @melwingsanhuang and team.

Smart rollout, to start with Arrive (package tracking, even for non-shopify packages). Everyone can benefit from that - and then once the app is installed, you can benefit from having a single app for preferred vendors. Just yesterday I had to buy cat litter from the website of my local pet shop online to do contactless pickup. They use Shop Pay for the payment so I didnt have to re-enter payment details, and now their store info is in this Shop app so I can easily repurchase. It also helped me find other local stores that are offering online purchase and pickup - LIKE MY FAVOURITE ARTISAN ICE CREAM SHOP DOWN THE STREET. Who'd have though an online platform would be so valuable in connecting with my local shops?

I’ve been using this app (it was called Arrive) for a few months and it’s seriously awesome for automatically tracking packages from Amazon, UPS, FedEx, etc. Plus, it’s so simple and beautiful!

Love it. Really excited to find merchants near me. I just got the app and don’t see that anywhere though. Is this a future feature?

Hey @devon_meadows ! To see the shop local feature you must have an active order in the app which contains your delivery address, only then will it show brick and mortar merchants from the Shop network within 50km of that address.

@cpollo01 I have several past orders showing up on there that contain my address. Is that not enough? You need an active order?

@cpollo01 I’m really excited about this platform. The major game changer in my eyes is this “shop local” feature. I own and operate a Shopify store. So as I’m testing this as a consumer and failing to find other store owners it’s concerning that this might not work when customers near my business are looking for local businesses. Are you going to make it easier for customers to shop locally? Why not ask for an address when onboarding and show your users the “shop local” section even if they have no prior Shopify store purchases? Really excited for this product. It’s really needed. I’m the biggest Shopify fan. I really hope to see this bringing more attention to small local shops like my own.

As a Shopify store owner and consumer of other Shopify stores I enjoyed using Arrive and now using Shop. I'd like to know if you plan any integrations with other digital marketing tools for shop owners to engage with customers or use variables in Shop to trigger things like emails in marketing automation platforms?

Wow, this is such an excellent addition! I am a slothful person, and I am even too lazy to go to the nearest store for shopping. I think this is a problem since I often have to use delivery and spend a lot of money on it. Most of all, it's a shame when you spent a lot of money on some new or private delivery, and you receive either not what you ordered or a damaged product. New deliveries do not always have enough money to return money for low-quality goods, which is why I always call through https://www.postsendungsverfolgu.... This is a global company, and everyone knows it. You can easily open a dispute with them. After providing all the evidence, they will return your goods or your money to you. Therefore, I do not really trust new deliveries. Maybe you know how to get rid of this fear. Deep down, I understand that they are also good, but there is no trust in them. :(
