So many companies (or small side projects) build their own jobs directory (we have one!). Smart idea to productize this, @kwuchu. One of the biggest challenges with job boards is selling inventory (for those that are trying to make $$$). Are you planning to build a distributed jobs marketplace on the backend?

@rrhoover Thanks Ryan, I appreciate the kind words! As for building a distributed jobs marketplace in the back-end, it's something I hadn't necessarily thought of. For a distributed jobs marketplace, it's hard for figuring out how that would work. If it gets submitted to ProductHunt's job board, should ProductHunt get paid for the job and it still shows up in other job boards / areas? That was a hard question to answer and it also raises the question of how payouts would work as well. I do believe that its possible this could be a next step that users could opt-in to though.

Hello PH! Thanks Jonathan for hunting this! After working on Interface Lovers and embedding Panda Jobs within it, I realized that every content-driven site should have an easy way to advertise jobs on their site. Whether it's an online community, blog, or even open source documentation, I wanted a simple way for people to get started with a job board. Feel free to give me any and all feedback. I'm here to listen and also answer any questions you may have.

Hi @kwuchu, I was looking into something like this a few weeks ago and I'm glad you built this service πŸ˜„. I was wondering if you will add the following: option for companies to add a logo, custom domains, different languages and themes? Congrats on the launch!
Iheanyi Ekechukwu
@angeliquesocial Hello there Angie! Thanks for checking it out. As for the features you requested... 1) Company Logos - Definitely in the pipeline and I have a feature branch right now that is working on adding in this feature. It's definitely a thing that companies and people will want to show. 2) Custom Domains - Also in the pipeline and I intend to add it in the future. :) 3) Different Languages & Themes - For the language part, I hadn't ever really considered that (although I will take note of it). Theming will be added in for customizing colors and I also plan on adding custom CSS support as well. :) Thanks again for checking it out! Let me know if you have anymore questions. I'm always an email / tweet away.

@kwuchu Hi Iheanyi thanks for your quick response. I'm from the Netherlands and have a few ideas for job listings and would be great if the fields of the forms could be in Dutch. Maybe this could be a premium version for customization. I can definitely work with the English version too πŸ˜€πŸ™Œ
Iheanyi Ekechukwu
@angeliquesocial I'll definitely take note of that, internationalization should be important. :) Thanks for bringing it up! I've made an issue for it and will start doing some research, I appreciate it. Let me know if there's anything else I can help you with in the meantime!

Well done! I've looked for a similar services / business models before and couldn't find anything. Perhaps it would be nice to be able to auto fill in some jobs from indeed or somewhere to help people get started?
Iheanyi Ekechukwu
@swetzequity Hey, thanks Zach! Auto-fill sounds like a pretty good idea! I'll take note of it, thanks for the suggestion!
Rich Peterson
@swetzequity It's true that there isn't anything lightweight to use. It's either Wordpress themes/plugins or SaaS software (that's quite expensive).

Knowing Iheanyi for a while, seeing a product like this take off is excellent. He has a eye for design and is known among his peers to scratch the itches he sees. I'm personally ready to start using Seeker to start moving content to my subscribers and site visitors alike. Excellent work, Iheanyi!
Iheanyi Ekechukwu
@jackyalcine Thanks dude. ❀️

Good idea Iheanyi but not sure how many content sites would want to host a job board as it could distract from the main mission of the site. Something to test. Making it a product as Ryan suggested might be a better approach. Have companies use it to list their own jobs on their own site. You'd have to completely rethink what a job board should look like and do so customers instantly see the value in paying for it vs. rolling with their own listing. Feels like there is room for innovation in this area as most job listings are fairly bland static pages with lot's of text. Good luck.
Iheanyi Ekechukwu
@rodbrews Thanks for the feedback! There's an API for users to seamlessly integrate into their site. Speaking as a person who has integrated a job board into a popular content site (https://interfacelovers.com), I figured it would be a good option for others to explore as well. While it may not be best for running a a job board by itself, Seeker is best paired with a website/application with a steady flow of traffic. ff others want to code up their own, I don't mind if they go that route. But there's always a tough balance between building it yourself or using a premade solution. I hope that those who don't want to build their own solution will use Seeker as a good starting point. Thanks for the well wishes and the feedback once again. I appreciate it!
