Hello, Product Hunt! 👋 (And a big thanks to @kevin for hunting us!) I’m Gabriel, one of the co-founders of Runway. We’re a team of former app designers and engineers, and we think that releasing mobile apps is a pain. Every release costs you time and unnecessary headaches: context-switching between tools in 20 different browser tabs, manually running through a laundry list of to-do items, chasing down teammates or stakeholders to complete tasks and get signoffs, and pinging back and forth on Slack to check on the status of everything. Runway solves this exercise in herding cats by creating a source of truth behind the madness and putting your releases on autopilot. You connect your existing tools (e.g. Jira, GitHub, CI/CD, Slack, and app stores) and the platform gives you a unified dashboard for understanding the progress of your release, automates a ton of manual tasks from kickoff to release, and handles communication of status and blockers to your team. Some key feature callouts: 🗺 A true picture of feature completeness Issue tracking and version control are both powerful tools for teams, but sometimes it’s difficult to understand how the state of one relates to the other, and the two worlds often get out of sync. Runway does the heavy lifting of reconciling the status of tickets on one side with code on the other, so you can be confident about the state of work going out with the release. 🚂 Release trains, automated Runway features a release train scheduler that can automate kickoff, submit, and release, on a recurring basis. Combined with other helpful automations (bump version, branch creation, default release notes, tagging, and many more), Runway makes your release trains more hands-free and allows your team to focus on development instead of process. 👩‍💻 Never set foot in App Store Connect or Play Console again Runway gives you a unified place to manage everything you tend to do release-to-release in the app stores. No context-switching between Apple and Google worlds or worrying about their changing requirements and UI every time. Plus, design and marketing can contribute without hand-holding or needing to give them access to sensitive tools. 🤝 Make releases more collaborative, according to your process We’ll handle team comms around important milestones via customizable Slack notifications, so you don’t have to. And you can add interactive checklists to Runway that codify tasks that are unique to your team’s release process and serve as both process documentation and just-in-time reminders for task owners. During our early access program we’ve been lucky to already work with industry-leading mobile teams behind some of your favorite apps for food delivery, fitness, finance, and more, and today we’re excited to open up Runway to the wider mobile world! We’d be really grateful for any and all feedback from the PH community, so please comment and let us know your thoughts! 🙏 (also we’re hiring! 👀)

We’ve been using Runway at BeatGig for the past few months to ship updates for our React Native app. It’s been an unbeatable experience. After launching our website using Vercel, we grew used to deploying updates to users with a simple ‘git push’. I wanted to bring this same developer experience to releasing our mobile app, where releases are historically cumbersome and slow. So I posted on Twitter asking how it could be done, and someone sent me a link to Runway. With Runway, our iOS and Android releases feel as convenient as Web. The GitHub Actions integration makes it easy to send over-the-air and App Store updates, without disrupting our workflow. The team has also been really responsive to my feedback, adding in special features for React Native in a few days time when we needed them.

@fernandotherojo Thanks so much for the kind words, and glad to hear the RN help has been a win for you all!! Excited to see where you take BeatGig :)

This is a must have tool for mobile teams! It's clear it's built by a team who've felt the pain points themselves. Congrats on the launch @gs_ and team 🚀🚀🚀

@gs_ @franciska_itly Thanks Franciska! The pain is real

Runway has been great for helping our team manage the overhead of releases, enabling us to release smaller/incremental changes more often whilst still being confident in the integrity of what is being released. Integrating with Runway was easy, and even that process helped us reflect/improve some of our own internal processes at the same time. Gabriel & the team have been extremely helpful, & I'm excited to see where they take the product!

@olibates 🙏 It's been great working with you and the team so far, and super glad to hear the experience has been helpful beyond the reach of the tool itself, too - really cool!
