How do you tell an angel from a VC before you send the deck?
by•
Angels write their own first check. VCs have a process, a partner meeting, and a stage they already decided. Sending a seed deck to an angel, or a pre-seed deck to a Series A fund, is how you get silence.
Before anyone gets the deck:
1. Last check: did they write a first check in the last year, or only lead later rounds?
2. Check size: $10–50k personal vs $1m+ fund
3. Decision: one person vs a partnership
4. Sector: they actually do this, not "we invest in everything"
If it is their own money and a first check, it is an angel. If it is a fund and a process, it is a VC. Matching is that filter, not a bigger list.
Round Funded matches by stage and sector so the first 50 are people who can actually write the check.

If you want that filter before you send the deck, start here.
