What do you miss about Product Hunt?

Over the past few months, we have seen some major and minor changes here, such as:

– removal of "Notify Me" pages

– addition of downvotes to comments (BTW, did you use that when it existed?)

– or the end of endless scrolling in the comments section – they replaced it with numbered pages

Is there anything you can think of that would improve the platform? (Apart from DMs, which you keep mentioning. 😅)

[Personally, I miss a button to bookmark my conversations, or interesting/valuable comments of other people.]

I miss the teaser pages with the Notify me button!!! 💔

Me too! But also that badge next to someone's profile that they will launch soon :)

me too!!! I’m launching next week and it would have given me more visibility 🥺

When is the launch date? :)

I am still not decided between Monday or Tuesday next week 🙌
Any suggestions?

Tuesday usually with higher traffic. On Mondays, a lot of work meetings, so maybe less competition. I would rather have more exposure, so I would try Tuesday, but it will be hard. If you love challenges, go for Tuesday.

The launch date is tomorrow 🤗

Can you share a link? :)

 Thank you! :)

Dark Mode?

I usually operate in light mode, so I didn't notice that. But you are true! :D This one is missing :)

   same to you nika

we would be hated by coders LOL

The lack of this feature is a bit of a tone-deaf slap in the face to the PH audience.

I miss when the daily feed wasn’t entirely AI slop. Everything is a chatGPT wrapper or some other form of AI-powered garbage now. So much so that my daily routine is no longer “browsing PH for the best and most creative new products”, but rather simply “finding the one or two products on the daily feed that isn’t AI trash so I can upvote them, regardless of what they are.”

AI killed creativity and it’s sad. I can’t wait for this bubble to pop and this obnoxious fad to die.

Unfortunately, we are in the AI bubble, and it will last for some time.

Bookmark button for good threads/comments!

Also infinite scroll for comments used to be nice

yeah, I am also missing that infinite scroll TBH :D

Back when your product could gain visibility without the need to be featured by Product Hunt's employees.

There would probably be many non-innovative products tho.

The job board 😢

True. But for now, sometimes shares forums with job openings.

yess, and I think it's a great start! But the job board allowed startups to list the roles they were looking for on the perfect platform for people with a maker's mindset. Considering how hard it is for startups to find the right people to grow their teams (especially for early-stage), I'd say the job board was a really helpful addition for founders (and job seekers, ofc)

You're spot on, and Product Forums (/p/) solved it IMHO.

Product Forums are underrated. From my perspective, they are places to talk all-things product: announcements, updates, best practices... and careers, too!

Hope it inspires

 I can't wait to see more! :)

Not sure that I would want DMs, I already have so many different platforms to keep a track of in regards to DMs, would prefer dark mode for sure, bookmarks as mentioned, downvoting, a ranking of which products were the most "collected" or saved, it's sort of another way to rank products.

For the multiple DMs, yes I know has tried to fix this, but still buggy at times, and not completely reliable, but better than nothing.

I am not so sure whether I wanted DMs too because I would probably receive tons of messages :D Time is limited.

I miss the Notify Me feature the most.

True, people could know about our upcoming products thanks to "Launching soon" badge next to the profile.

I vaguely remember that there used to be options for deals and consulting with experts long back.

 What? When? Which year? :D

The ability to swiftly return to topics I was involved in is something I truly miss. It would be lot simpler if there was only a "saved conversations" tab. I also find that the numbered pages slow me down a little; the unlimited scroll seemed more appropriate for conversations.

Save button for convo or following the discussion would be useful to me as well! :)

But for now, you can follow only the forum (e.g Product Hunt forum)
