Seems like just another finance app trying to do it all, aren't there already enough out there like Mint and Personal Capital, though the 5.8% APY sounds sweet, how's it better from the others, curious to see if this will actually simplify things or just add to the clutter
@ceoalanodynamo It's really the financial guidance and insights that sets us apart and connects our features together - bridging the gap between understanding your financial position and taking action. Other budgeting apps give you the ability to connect your accounts, but on Origin users get tailored insights or can meet with a financial planner to go beyond budgeting and define a strategy to build wealth.
We also have a variety of investing and savings tools, free couples access, a cool Zillow integration, the ability to track your equity, create an estate plan and file your taxes. Our app makes it easy to access (and afford) financial services that are traditionally fragmented and expensive.

What an exhilarating launch day! Please, check it out and leave your comments/feedback!
Our team poured their hearts and souls into this product. A huge shoutout to the entire team —Engineering, Product, Design, Marketing, Sales, Ops— whose talent, dedication, and unwavering support made this launch a reality.Â
Looks like a super useful platform! Just checked it out briefly, and it seems really promising. Congrats on the launch, Matt! Can't wait to see how it grows.
@alexanderwilliamhawkins Thanks so much for checking it out! We can't wait to share more as we grow. If you have any feedback or ideas along the way, we'd love to hear them!

Hey Matt, the platform looks interesting but I'm wondering how it actually handles real-time budget tracking, is it accurate, do the AI-powered insights really adapt to individual spending habits or just follow a preset algorithm, also the 5.8% APY seems too good to be true, what are the catches, I'd love to see more transparency around that, maybe a feature that shows projected outcomes for different financial decisions would be helpful, keep pushing the boundaries

@codenerdfis thanks for the product love and the great questions!
For AI-powered insights, we tailor each individual's personalized guidance by using data from connected accounts. This automates much of the manual process you would do if you worked with an in-person financial advisor where they would need to ask and manually record your account info. We work will the leading account aggregators like Plaid, MX, and Finicity. And we're constantly adding more to help more people see their full financial picture in Origin!
For our savings rate, we are able to offer a market-leading savings by working with fantastic banking partners that make this possible. All deposits have the same FDIC insurance as any other US bank. We are offering users a 3-month promotional rate to get to the 5.8% but our un-boosted rate of ~5.40% is still among the highest in the market today. You can see all of our disclaimers and details on the cash account promotional rate on our website here: http://useorigin.com/legal

@user_fintech123 I feel the same way! This is such a big milestone for the whole team. All these features are so great! Also pumped about the referral program.
@marian_vovk - yo yo! I'm the product manager who launched Cash Accounts, so can give you my POV on this one!
1. Our cash account APY is variable and subject to change. As of today (September 5, 2024), our rate was 5.52% and we are offering a promotion to celebrate our launch that boosts your rate up to 5.8% APY for a limited time. Our full terms and conditions can be found at useorigin.com/legal
2. Regarding ensuring competitive base rates - we partner with a custodian (like most FinTech, since we're not a bank) who has something called an FDIC Cash Sweep account through their partner banks. And those partner banks evaluate what would be competitive rates to drive deposits and pass that along. And at the end of the day in the US, it's all based on the Federal Funds Rate set at the US federal reserve, which can/will fluctuate based on the needs of the economy.
Sorry if that was too detailed or technical (I am a PM after all haha)

So another app promising the moon huh? Not sure if I'd trust AI with my will or my savings rate but curious to see how this pans out tbh

@pacocreative Hi Julien, thanks for the comment!
Origin's estate planning offering - our living trusts and wills - makes a process that is normally expensive, complicated, and frankly scary extremely simple, fast, and affordable for everyone. We built our estate planning offering in partnership with several leading estate planning legal firms, and we're really proud of the quality and flexibility of the offering.
For our savings rate, we are able to offer a market-leading savings by working with fantastic banking partners that make this possible. All deposits have the same FDIC insurance as any other US bank.
