Hi everyone! I am new to Product hunt and came across Orbit. I signed up as a user and I absolutely loved the design and interface because it is very clean and easy to use. Although I had a question regarding the motivation behind providing a feature of Github integration in the product, is it because Orbit is also targeting tech companies/startups as potential customer base?

That's right. While Orbit is being used by community builders and devrel teams running all kinds of communities, we've a number of Open Source companies and projects who use GitHub and want to know who is actively contributing not just code, but helping out in other ways too.
Can this replace us using slack for our online community group ?

Hey Eric - no, more like it can tell you how engaged folks are on Slack within your community, who is most active, who has just joined and you should reach out to etc. But if you're looking to use something other than Slack, we wrote a pretty in-depth article comparing alternatives that you might find useful:
