@inishchith thanks for the info. Would it be possible to get regular updates on this? Would also be keen to help out if you need support down the line.
Nishchith Shetty
@naeem_amarsy In case you have a Github account you can click on `Watch` option and you'll have every change that's being push onto the product, notified to you via email. In case there's a better way, i'll keep you updated ;)

Great idea, would be cool to have an option to hide the inputted addresses and only show the midpoint area!
Nishchith Shetty
@superspookyuser there's a close option to hide the resultBox. in case you mean the input markers, I don't think that would be great.
caleb
@inishchith No I do mean the input markers, atm this can only work for two+ people who are okay to share their home addresses with each other. But If you want to meet someone on, say, craigslist you wouldn't want that person to know where you live, but the midpoint radius would still be useful to both people, if they are meeting from far away.
Nishchith Shetty
@superspookyuser That's a great. Never thought of it. It'll be easy to incorporate, only thing that bothers me is that the extra buttons would just affect the user experience. Still a great thought, i'll try to work around. Thanks ;)

@inishchith Awesome!

This could be a useful feature within Messenger or Google Maps itself.
Nishchith Shetty
@rrhoover Exactly ;) Could have been so much better .

@yungrollneck Thanks!. Let me know what you think ;)

I love this idea! Since Seattle Downtown isn't very wide we always have this problem when we walk towards each other to meet up 😛
Nishchith Shetty
@zelena Thanks ;)

Hello, PH world. 🙂 Meet In The Middle is just a fun idea on which i've been working for last couple of days. The WebApp suggests places to hangout which is closer to every friend of yours on the map!. • Basically exploiting the features provided by Google Maps API along with the concept of InterWeb [ PubNub helped me here :P ] • All your friends share the same view as yours Find more about the implementation : https://github.com/inishchith/Me... Thanks!

Can you elaborate on how your site is differentiated from the other websites that perform this function? It appears that the group-based tool might be unique. Have you considered weighting the locations of your participants? If four people live in Los Angeles and one person lives in SF, it stands to reason that the ideal location isn't halfway between LA and SF (but rather it would be closer to LA). It should minimize net person-miles traveled by the group.
Nishchith Shetty
@searchresults > Have you considered weighting the locations of your participants? - Yes. Just Updated.
Soe
@searchresults @inishchith For LA and SF specifically, weighted would be better because there isn't much in the middle. However, generally speaking if its weighted then why not just have the person come over? The middle should simply be the middle, right? Or maybe the option of weighted or unweighted?
Vitaliy Hayda
It's not weighed... Meaning that if you have 2 friends in stop A, and 1 friend in spot B, it will still be halfway, rather than 33% from Spot A, so total travelled distance is minimized. Also - after adding around 4-6 addresses, Google Maps Query limiter kicks in. You might need to throttle and show loading animation. I need 7-10 addresses frequently.
Nishchith Shetty
Hey @vitaliy_hayda, Thanks for addressing the issue.🙂 Update: Resolved!
Abhilash Jain
This is the perfect answer to where do we meet up :) great work @inishchith
Nishchith Shetty
