Semi-retired lead dev building live products — open to interesting collaborations

by

Hi, I'm Ross Hancher — ex–Lead Developer with 25+ years in enterprise software, now semi-retired and building full-stack products solo using AI-augmented workflows (mainly Cursor + Python/JS).

I spent most of my career leading end-to-end delivery at a global market research firm — legacy VB/C#/Oracle/SQL Server systems, migrations, AWS, DevOps, and CI/CD. These days I focus on turning ideas into deployed apps in days or weeks, not months.

I'm not here just to generate code with AI — I bring architectural guardrails: scalable design, solid data models, secure deployments, and maintainable code.

What I'm building right now

  • Nosey Neighbour (noseyneighbour.co.uk) — UK property map with sold prices and area insights

  • Pocket Lawyer (pocketlawyer.life) — UK legal information and paperwork help (also on iOS)

  • Tricky Chats (trickychats.life) — conversation practice for difficult situations

  • TheNetworkerHub — full-stack platform (near completion)

  • MyWebStuff.co.uk — sandbox for utility apps and proofs of concept

What I bring to a team

  • Rapid MVP prototyping and production deployment

  • Full-stack execution: DB design → backend → frontend → VPS/cloud deploy

  • Senior architecture and code review (especially for AI-generated codebases)

  • DevOps, GitHub workflows, and iterative shipping

Why I'm on Project Hunt

I'm mostly building solo, but I'm open to collaborating on projects where someone needs a senior builder who can actually ship — especially early-stage MVPs, technical co-founder support, or rescue/refactor work on messy prototypes.

Happy to help with architecture, backend, deployment, or end-to-end delivery. If you're building something useful and need someone who moves fast and builds it properly, say hi.

Really impressive how you're shipping so many useful projects with that blend of AI workflows and deep architectural experience. I'm building The Sponge, an AI-powered flashcard app that turns any webpage into spaced-repetition study material. If you're up for it, I'm launching on PH soon... would appreciate a follow (See "PRODUCT HUNT LAUNCH" Link in my profile)
