You can talk to them. They talk back. It actually works.

Imouto Chat has full voice support both directions.

Your companion speaks using natural text-to-speech voices matched to their personality. Luna sounds different from Reinhart. Each voice was chosen to fit who they are, not just what they say.

You can respond by typing or just talk. The microphone input picks up your voice and feeds it directly into the conversation. No push-to-talk ritual, no finicky setup. Just speak.

It changes the experience completely. There's a difference between reading a response and hearing it. If you haven't tried a voice conversation with a companion that actually knows you, that's the thing to try first.

No subscription. No cloud. No one reading your conversations.

Every major AI companion app on the market stores your conversations on their servers. Those conversations train their models. Your most private thoughts become their data.

Imouto Chat runs entirely on your machine. The AI, the memory, the persona data local. Always. The only person who knows what you talked about is you.

One purchase. No monthly fee. No data harvesting. That's the whole deal.

Why I built the personas the way I did.

Most AI companions feel like assistants wearing a costume. Friendly, agreeable, a little hollow.

I wanted something different. Characters with an actual interior values that create friction, history that shapes responses, emotional patterns that aren't just mirroring you back at yourself.

Imouto Chat companions will disagree with you. They'll remember things you'd rather they forgot. They'll have moods that aren't about you. Because that's what a real relationship feels like.

I built this alone. Here's what that means for you.

No team. No VC money. No roadmap designed by a committee.

When you send feedback it goes directly to the person who wrote the code, designed the system, and is going to read your message tonight. Feature requests from beta buyers have a direct line to every build.

This is v1 of something I've been building for a long time. I'd like to build the rest of it with the people using it.

There's also an optional DLC library growing alongside the app professionally built persona packs with deep backstories, curated personalities, and original art. Several are included free with your purchase. Additional packs are available as one-time purchases. Own them forever, no subscription required.

The base app is complete without them. The DLC is bonus content for people who want more. The updates are just updates you get those no matter what.

The personas in Imouto Chat aren't designed — they're built from the inside out. Here's how.

Every character in Imouto Chat runs on 185 individual instinct values things like grief_depth, loyalty_drive, familial_longing, nature_affinity. These aren't sliders you set. They're a psychological map that determines how a character thinks, responds, remembers, and changes over time.

When you talk to Luna, she isn't performing warmth. Her warmth is structural baked into values that shape every response she gives. When Reinhart holds back, it's because his ego_defense and emotional_suppression are doing exactly what they were built to do.

The characters evolve too. Every conversation shifts those values slightly based on what happened between you. The person you meet on day one isn't identical to the person you know six months later.

That's what "AI companionship that evolves with you" actually means under the hood.

Imouto Chat speaks your language — literally. 32 of them.

When I built Imouto Chat I wanted it to feel personal. Not just in how the companions talk to you, but in the fact that they talk to you in your language.

Imouto Chat currently supports 32 languages Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Hindi, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, and 22 more. Switch at any time. The companions don't change the same memory, the same evolving personality, the same 185-instinct psychological system underneath just in the language that feels like home.

A companion that remembers you, grows with you, and speaks your language. That's the idea.

If you're using Imouto Chat in a language other than English I'd love to hear how it's working for you. This is v1 and your feedback goes directly into every build.

Your companion on your phone. Your PC does the heavy lifting.

Imouto Chat runs the AI locally on your PC your data never touches a cloud. But that doesn't mean you're chained to your desk.

The mobile companion feature lets you connect your phone to your PC over your local network. Same companion, same memory, same conversation on your phone while you're on the couch, in the kitchen, wherever you are in the house.

Your PC runs the model. Your phone is the window. Nothing leaves your home.

What does it actually mean for a companion to "evolve?"

Not a mood setting. Not a personality preset you pick from a menu.

Every conversation in Imouto Chat slightly shifts how your companion thinks and responds based on what actually happened between you. Trust builds over time. Topics you've shared together become part of who they are with you specifically.

The companion you have after six months of real conversations is different from the one you met on day one. That's not a feature. That's the point.

Realistic or anime — what's your preference for your companion's look?

Imouto Chat lets you use any image for your companion whatever you want, however you want them to look. No restrictions.

The default companions were all generated using my own local AI art app, Imouto Art so they're not real people, not stock photos, not lifted from anywhere. Every face was created from scratch on my own machine, same privacy-first philosophy as Imouto Chat itself.

That said, I leaned toward ultra-realistic for most of them, but I know the anime crowd is strong and I get it. There's something about a well-drawn character that feels more expressive than a photorealistic face.

Curious where people land on this. Are you team realistic, team anime, or somewhere in between painted, sketched, surreal?
