Hey founders & builders 👋🏻
Big milestone for GitLaw today. We’ve completely redesigned GitLaw around our new AI agent - a faster, smarter way to draft and review contracts.
GitLaw was previously best known for our open library of free, trusted templates.
Now, the agent uses that library to draft documents for you.
What’s new?
📝 Draft contracts in seconds using trusted industry templates (NDA, MSA, SaaS, etc.)
🔍 Review and redline instantly with a revision history of what has changed
🤖 See how the agent thinks - like most vibe coding tools show
🧩 A new agent-first UX
Would love your feedback - especially from anyone who’s ever had to wait days for a contract edit that felt very straightforward.

@nickholzherr Really excited to share this with the Product Hunt community today and looking forward to everyone’s feedback!

@nickholzherr Excited to get this out there and hear the feedback! 💥

@nickholzherr Great to see GitLaw Agent out in the world. Interested to hear feedback from the Product Hunt community.
Congrats on the Agent rollout, @nickholzherr !
Doing a quick forensic scan of your new design:
The Serif typography + Yellow highlights is a brilliant move. It perfectly establishes the "Legal Contract"-anchor with the smell of lawyer's formalin.
However, placing this serious typography against the PepperMint/Pastel palette and sudden color bursts creates a Signal Dissonance. It gives off a "Lifestyle App" vibe rather than "Legal Enterprise Infrastructure".
It’s a bit like a judge wearing sneakers. This might create cognitive friction for conservative partners looking at your higher-tier plans.
Just a thought on positioning. Hope you beat the market!

It is not anything better to had a hunter who studied law – good choice for this product ;)

@busmark_w_nika 100% @byalexai is deep into AI and studied Law!
@busmark_w_nika hahah yep, yep! And their product is really good.

@byalexai @nickholzherr Good choice! :D
The legal field is one of the most traditional industries out there. Businesses often need the same types of documents again and again (NDAs, contracts, MSAs) yet lawyers’ time is very expensive. That’s why AI tools like GitLaw can be a HUGE addition.
They save time, reduce cost, and make legal work more accessible. It’s still early days for AI in law, but the progress is already impressive.
Tried the AI chat and I must say, solid UX and impressive prompt interpretation. The multi-user collaboration workflow is a clear win for in-house teams. 👏
The next critical step will be deep integrations. True enterprise adoption depends on an API for end-to-end audit trails, specifically for connecting with existing CLM platforms. How is that on the roadmap?
GitLaw
@mrinalbhatt Thanks for the positive feedback! Firstly - our near-term focus is smaller businesses - not enterprises. HOWEVER:
1. We do have "audit trails" supported for every user - you can see revision-by-revision changes in the right-side menu. This matters for collaboration between humans, or collab with the AI agent.
2. We will be releasing an API in the near future. But, not focused on enterprises. Instead, focused on integration of the core GitLaw features with other tools where people already do their works -- think CRMs, not CLMs ;)
Really want to try it out! Is this globally available, or is it limited to certain regions?
GitLaw
@quinn_nelson Thanks Quinn! Would love your feedback once you've tried it. It's focused on US and UK today.. will be adding other regions as we move from Alpha -> Beta

if i want to understand what is in an NDA, can I use Gitlaw?
GitLaw
@auren Yep. You can ask questions about contracts, ask the agent to make edits, or ask the agent to draft an entirely new NDA.

Will you support custom template uploads soon?
GitLaw
@abod_rehman Great question Abdul. Yes, we will. You'll be able to upload custom templates for your business and ask the AI agent to use those to draft all your documents.
Example: If you have an existing sales agreement you use every day.. you can upload that and have the agent adapt/use that.
We're also planning "Organization" templates -- so if you are part of a company (or law firm) which has a standard set of agreements -- the agent can just adapt those org-wide templates for you.
Make sense?

This is so cool. I remember seeing the template library before, and pivoting to an AI agent that uses them as a foundation is genius. It feels like it would be so much more accurate. One thing I always worry about with legal stuff is location—if I need a contract for my business in Texas, does the agent know to handle that differently than one for a friend in New York?
GitLaw
@chrishicken Thanks Chris 🙌 That's a great point re: location - the short answer is yes.
You can set your jurisdiction in Settings, toggle it in chat using the globe icon, or include it in your prompt (eg. “Draft under Texas law”). The Agent adjusts accordingly.
More on how to do that here: https://git.law/knowledge-base/set-your-jurisdiction

Congratulations on the launch. Useful tools like this deserve early support
GitLaw
@sanskarix thank you Sanskar!
Congratulation on your launch! Does GitLaw/GitLaw Agent provide support in cases where I want to translate/convert the original law docs to my proficient language, or vice versa crafting the docs in my language and exporting in another language with similar format?
GitLaw
@nmhieu_architect Thank you Hieu 🚀 We’re seeing more users translate or adapt legal docs across languages with GitLaw and it handled those cases well 🙂
One of our team members even used it last week for official paperwork - worked like a charm!
