Who should be responsible for the threat that AI potentially poses?

Today, I came across an article on Techcrunch describing research that found that AI models not only hallucinate, but also lie.

While these are small lies, such as claiming that a task was completed when it wasn t, researchers stress they haven t seen harmful scheming in real-world use yet, but warn risks will rise as AI takes on more complex tasks.

Anthropic just dropped Opus 4.7

Here s what changed:

Production-ready code with minimal oversight, and it can verify its own outputs
More control over reasoning effort
3x better vision (now up to 3.75MP images)
Improved instruction following and overall reliability
New xhigh reasoning mode for finer control between speed and depth

Same pricing as Opus 4.6 ($5 and $25 per million input and output tokens). The new tokenizer can use around 1.0 to 1.35x more tokens depending on content, though this can be managed through effort settings and task budgets.

If you had to recommend only one book in 2024 what would it be? 📚

To me it would be "$100 M offers" by Alex Hormozi. Because distribution is crucial now to succeed when you build products. And the book gives actionable tips to create the best offer. and you ?

Keeping Customers Engaged Beyond Initial Sign-Up

All of us want customers on our platforms. However, a sign-up is very different from an engaged user who keeps returning and finding value over time.

Creating the right user experience, without being too intrusive, spammy, or in your face , can significantly improve engagement, increase conversions, and reduce churn. In my experience, a platform s success is defined far more by its active users than by the total number of people who have ever signed up.

Below are a few approaches I ve seen work well, along with some that haven t been as effective.

Do we need more ethics in AI?

As Artificial Intelligence (AI) becomes increasingly ubiquitous, it raises important ethical considerations. AI technologies are increasingly integrated into our daily lives, from intelligent virtual assistants to facial recognition software. However, as the capabilities of AI continue to grow, so too do concerns around issues such as data privacy, algorithmic bias, and accountability. According to Platformer, Microsoft laid off an entire team dedicated to guiding AI innovation that leads to ethical, responsible, and sustainable outcomes last week. I'm not sure this is the right way to go. What s your opinion about this?

Why is Cursor so much more popular than Windsurf?

My editor journey has been: 1. Tried out Github copilot in VS Code. Loved it. 2. Then tried out @Cursor after @bernatfortet

The U.S. Mint drops an "innovation" $1 coin featuring Steve Jobs.

Would you buy this Steve Jobs "innovation coin" for $1?

This design presents a young Steve Jobs sitting in front of a quintessentially northern California landscape of oak-covered rolling hills. His posture and expression, as he is captured in a moment of reflection, show how this environment inspired his vision to transform complex technology into something as intuitive and organic as nature itself. Inscriptions are UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and CALIFORNIA. Additional inscriptions are STEVE JOBS and MAKE SOMETHING WONDERFUL.
