What are your top 3 dream companies to work for right now?

If you had to leave your current job and could work at any company, in any role, what would be your top 3 dream companies?

Here are my picks:

  1. Anthropic - Arguably the most important company in history, and trying to build AI responsibly

  2. Cursor - Some of the smartest engineers working across incredibly difficult technical and design problems

  3. Linear - Super product-focused and seems like some of the highest density of talent ever

(and of course my top pick would be - helping all these companies deeply understand their data with AI)

Basedash but obviously biased 🤣

If not, Anthropic and OpenAI, to be at the companies helping write history now.

 I'd honestly be surprised if anyone in tech doesn't have one of the big AI labs in their top 3.

Kind of telling that three out of four picks in this thread are AI companies now, would've been a totally different list two years ago.

 it's amazing how few tech companies these days are not at least a bit into AI.

My three would be more scrappy and less famous, the well known picks always feel a bit safe to me.

Uff, I had this ambition a few years ago, and it has always been big players in social media like Meta or YouTube, media companies (Forbes – where I was already a contributor) or entertainment (Warner Bros, Netflix) :)

Now, I want to be independent and ideally have them in the portfolio of clients. It is always heart-warming when employees from a big company subscribe to my newsletter with their company mail :)

 that's a great approach, you get to stay independent but also see the inner workings of all the companies you respect.

Feels like this thread is basically a snapshot of where tech talent wants to be right now, AI labs, AI native tools, and product heavy teams like Linear. Curious if anyone here has picks that go against that pattern entirely.

I'd prefer to work for myself, but if I have to pick someone else's company that would be top VC - Andreessen Horowitz

Mine would probably be: OpenAI, Anthropic, Google DeepMind

Mainly because they're working on some of the most interesting AI problems right now.

My picks are - Tesla, SpaceX and a healthcare/Nanomedicine startup

 nice, any particular one in mind? I don't know the space well.
