Do we actually have a productivity problem, or a tool problem?

I've noticed something lately: the more productive tools I add to my workflow, the more time I seem to spend maintaining the workflow itself.

One app for tasks.
One for notes.
One for bookmarks.
One for team communication.
One for documents.

Then I need another tool to connect all of those tools.

At what point does productivity software become another thing we have to manage?

Is it just me or are all calendar apps trying to do way too much now?

I have been spending a bit of time testing out different calendar apps over the last few weeks to clean up my daily routine. It seems like every tool I try wants to be a full project management dashboard, a task manager, a habit tracker, and an AI scheduling assistant all at once.

Honestly, I usually just want a clean view of my day, quick event entry, and decent timezone handling. Half the time, all the extra features end up feeling like clutter rather than actual help. For those of you who use dedicated calendar tools, do you actually use all those extra features, or have you found a minimalist app that just sticks to doing the basics really well?

Do you work on weekends?

For me, I finish the tasks I didn t complete during the week, then try to get ahead on a few things.

And I always finish my weekend by preparing my tasks for the next week.

I know some founders completely disconnect on weekends, but I ve never really managed to do that

What about you? Do you work on weekends or completely switch off?
