What are the 5 tools you simply couldn't do your work without?

This could be related to your industry, or even a side project you're working on.

Here are my 5 (I couldn't function without them):

  1. Grammarly – proofreading my texts, not just posts, but also client communication

  2. ChatGPT / Claude – mostly brainstorming, help with copy, and summarising

  3. Figma – I can put the basic graphics together quickly.

  4. Translator – sounds incredibly old-school, but English is not my mother tongue

  5. Gmail – and not only for communication, but also for storing ideas and sending myself email reminders for posts

What are your five?

Claude & peaceful music on spotify to kill my ADHD spikes haha

And of course my Mac which makes the day to day running around so much easier

Nika

@perphect Music is a must-have!

  1. Google Calendar/Tasks (planning, jotting quick things down, reflection)

  2. Claude (repetitive tasks, personal tutor, summary for fact-based workflow)

  3. Prodrafts (my infinite canvas notetaking app)

That's it. only 3.

Nika

@zanc_zhao Love the first one – it is a basic one but pretty useful! :)

@nika fair point · my framing got tech-heavy because that's where I live. The honest underlying principle works for anyone: find the tool that 3x's your output and lean into it. For devs it's Cursor right now. For marketing folks I see Notion/Linear hit that 3x · for designers Figma. Curious what tool has been YOUR unexpected 3x?

1,2,3, 5 are the same. I’m a researcher and I use pycharm for data analysis.
Nika

@looquee_26 what do you mean by "they are the same"? :D

Phil

@busmark_w_nika they are also my essentials :)

SARWAR ALAM

My go-to tools

  • Keynada — A project I recently built to add calming, meditative typing sounds to my workflow, making coding sessions more enjoyable than standard keyboard clicks.

  • VS Code — My primary editor for writing, debugging, and maintaining code every day.

  • Claude & ChatGPT — Useful for brainstorming ideas, refining concepts, and summarizing information.

  • GitHub & Git Bash — Essential tools for version control, code management, and collaboration.

  • Vercel — Used for deploying and hosting my websites and applications.

Nika

@sarwar10 Have you already launched it?

Manuel Castro

my 5:

  1. Claude - basically search at this point

  2. Conductor - the best way to run a bunch of claude codes at once

  3. Notion - all things documents

  4. Slack - keeping me in touch with the team

  5. Figma - the only way to design

this is the stack when building consumer (and not including the marketing tools... heh)

Nika

@castma Love all the tools you put there! :D (I also use them too) :D

Ihor Herasymovych
  1. Claude Code (Coding)

  2. Claude Code (Notes)

  3. Claude Code (Psychotherapist)

  4. Claude Code (Remotion)

  5. Figma

Nika

@ihor_herasymovych I expected Claude Code also for 5. point :D

Eduard Akimbaev

Here are mine:

  1. Bendida TimeBox – My own app, which helps me on a daily basis.

  2. Gemini – Also great for brainstorming and generating images.

  3. Android Studio – This is where I develop my projects.

  4. Figma – For designing projects before I actually start coding.

  5. Any movie streaming site – It's important for me not just to work hard, but also to know how to unwind. Relaxing is an essential part of both life and work, which is why I’m including this on the list.

Nika

@eduard477 Which is your fave movie? :)

Eduard Akimbaev

@busmark_w_nika I have a lot of favorite movies. Depending on my mood, I might watch Adam Sandler or Rob Schneider films, Gladiator, or The Godfather. What about you? What are your favorite movies, or do you prefer a different way to unwind?

Nika

@eduard477 I like action ones or Drama. Mission Impossible, Magnolia, Fifth element and this vibe of cyberpunk :D

Nika

@gaurav_sharma48 Re Obsidian: I was considering trying it. What do you consider its own benefits?

Jorge Ruiz Zuleta
definitely AI, depending on the job or challenge I will use one or the other.
Nika

@jorgerz and do you have any preferred tool or company?
