What are the 5 tools you simply couldn't do your work without?

This could be related to your industry, or even a side project you're working on.

Here are my 5 (I couldn't function without them):

  1. Grammarly – proofreading my texts, not just posts, but also client communication

  2. ChatGPT / Claude – mostly brainstorming, help with copy, and summarising

  3. Figma – I can put the basic graphics together quickly.

  4. Translator – sounds incredibly old-school, but English is not my mother tongue

  5. Gmail – and not only for communication, but also for storing ideas and sending myself email reminders for posts

[and soon one more that I am working on – – prevents me from being banned on LinkedIn, so I will not lose my account.]

I can see some interesting listst around here...My 5 (sales professional, enterprise AI):

HubSpot — pipeline lives here. if it's not logged, it doesn't exist.

Fathom — records and summarizes every call. pull the transcript, write the follow-up, done.

Lusha — finds the Prospects at any target account with a verified phone. outbound fuel.

Claude — drafting outreach, building proposals, prepping calls, thinking out loud. always open.

Timbal — where i run agents for complex tasks. enrichment pipelines, CRM sync, multi-step automations. Still feels like cheating.

in order of how much they'd ruin my life if they died:

1. claude code - shipped a feature this week at 2am that would've taken 3 weeks pre-claude. real talk: it's 70% of my actual output now

2. perplexity for research because i lost trust in google search results in 2023 and never got it back

3. linear because i tried 8 other PM tools and only this one doesn't slow me down

4. figma even though i'm a backend guy. i need it just to communicate what i'm thinking

5. discord for the 4 specific channels where the people i learn from actually hang out

the controversial one: i stopped using slack last year. nobody noticed except the people who needed me to respond instantly.

My top 5:

  1. Supabase - Easiest for authentication

  2. Vercel - Deployment

  3. Obsidian - Markdown and supports community made plugins

  4. Tutamail - Best option out there for privacy

  5. Qwen 2.5 - one of the best self hosted LLM models

my 5:
1. claude code. i build my whole product with it and at this point it's basically my cofounder

  1. vercel. ship, break something, ship again, repeat all day

  2. outloud. it writes my posts and replies in my actual voice so i stop sounding like a press release

  3. higgsfield. every carousel and video i make comes out of here now

  4. my notes app. every post hook and half-idea lives there before it goes anywhere

the gmail-as-idea-storage trick is so real, i do the same thing but in notes and then never find them again
