marketing advice online assumes I live in San Francisco. I don't.

been thinking about this a lot lately. most marketing advice i read online asumes you can just post on twitter and get 1000 followers overnight. that's not how it works here in Bangladesh.
so i'm curious. if you're a maker from a smaller country or non-english market — how did you actually find your first users? did you launh on product hunt, post in local commnities, cold email, something else?
not looking for geneic tips. just want to know what actually worked for someone in a similar position.

I'm in Croatia, so the "post on Twitter and go viral" advice doesn't match reality here either. What helped me reframe it: my users aren't local, they're spread across English-speaking countries, so being outside a big tech hub matters less than I expected. I focus on going where those specific people already are: real LinkedIn conversations (commenting and talking to people) and a few niche Facebook groups around the problem we solve. Local communities haven't helped me since my customers aren't local, though if your users are in Bangladesh that might be the opposite for you. I'm still early and haven't cracked it, but talking to people one by one in the right places has felt more real than the follower game.
