FlickClean - Smart photo gallery cleaner with swipe-based decluttering
byβ’
FlickClean transforms photo cleanup from a tedious task into an engaging experience. Instead of manually selecting photos, simply swipe left to delete or right to keep.

I built FlickClean because I was tired of the overwhelming task of cleaning up my photo library. Existing solutions either required manual selection or felt clunky. I wanted something that felt natural and engaging - like dating apps but for photo cleanup!
I'm most proud of the smooth user experience - the haptic feedback, smooth animations, and the way it remembers your position in each month. As an indie developer, seeing users actually enjoy decluttering their photos feels amazing! The app is completely free with all features unlocked - I just added a small subscription option to remove ads for those who want to support development.
What do you think? Would you use something like this for your photo cleanup?

Using gestures for photo management makes a lot of sense. I like that you've repurposed the intuitive swiping gestures used in other apps to quickly review photos.
I think this app would benefit from a few more photo library management features. For example, it would be nice if it automatically detected photos that you likely want to delete (duplicate, blurry, etc). Automated grouping (maybe based on photo metadata) would also be useful so you could break down reviewing sets of photos based on location, time period, etc. Lastly, it would be great if you had another gesture (maybe swipe up) to set aside photos that you want to keep but apply some edits (crop, filters, etc).
Nice job so far, congrats on the launch! βΊοΈ

@smjburtonΒ Thank you so much for the thoughtful feedback!
I'm really glad you liked the swipe-based navigation β I wanted it to feel as natural and intuitive as possible.
I really liked your ideas, especially the ones about automatically detecting unwanted photos (like blurry or duplicates) and grouping photos based on metadata like time or location β that would definitely make reviewing easier. The swipe-up gesture to mark photos for editing is also a great suggestion!
I'll do my best to implement these features in the near future. Thanks again! π
