Looks like an attractive addition to the Fitbit lineup. Was hoping for it to have Heart Rate capabilities, but I think it is the best-looking wrist option available (at least in the Fitbit lineup). Not sure if it is innovative enough for Flex or Charge users to update, but should be promising for customers looking to buy their first Fitbit.
@jeremiahlee, I see that the Alta lacks continuous heart monitoring as with the Surge HR. My Surge HR fell apart pretty quickly and I like the slim form factor of the Alta, but is the Alta (and Flex, etc.) less accurate at counting calories?
@therobbiedshow Fitbit products have a year warranty. Contact customer support if something has broken.
Heart rate data does allow Fitbit to more accurately estimate calories burn. If that feature is important to you, you will be better served by the Charge HR or Surge.
