@syswarren That's a really good question! So I'm not a developer, but I really wanted to make some kind of game by myself. I came up with the idea of using web pages as levels, and the goal of clicking an object to clear the level. To begin with I had cursors flying around, but that got boring and seemed a bit old-fashioned, so I changed them to emojis.
Then I needed something in the background. I wanted it to be dynamic so it's different every time. Pulling images from a subreddit seemed like a good idea. Initially I wanted to match the emojis with a relevant subreddit, e.g. the food level would get images from /r/foodporn but that idea didn't work for all the levels and results weren't always great. So I went with /r/earthporn because the images are consistently amazing and high quality. And I love the contrast between a swarm of emojis and the beauty of planet earth.
I witnessed this evolution first-hand – @brockkenzler plays it down like it was a series of obvious choices, but this is just one of many evil genius side projects he's come up with recently. Nice work man!

Figured out a cheat: CMD + A highlights all objects in motion, leaving the static emoji un-highlighted.
@dpolaske BOOM! Finished the game. The last level is poop and toilet emojis. Then a GIF of Leonardo DiCaprio from The Great Gatsby. Wish he called me "old sport" though.
@lylemckeany How many levels are there? Not sure if I want to spend time completing it... :)
EDIT: Never mind. There's ten levels. Looks like the winner gif is different from person to person. I got Thumbs Up guy.
