I'm very curious to read the answers to this but slightly nervous about what I might learn. 😅

@awt FYI, the share URLs could use a share image so it looks better when posted on Facebook, Messenger, etc.

@rrhoover thanks for the tip. I'll work on that!

Hey PH - Started Cosight because I was shocked to find out that a couple people I was very close to viewed my behavior MUCH differently than I did! The goal is for anyone to easily get feedback from their friends or coworkers and see where those blindspots are. Working to add more tools to track and improve behavior as well. Love to hear what you think!

You can see how the feedback process works without logging in - https://cosight.app/360/?ac=4367

If you could get 100% candid answers from your friends/coworkers, what would you ask?
Ram
How do you go about optimizing for (brutally) honest feedback from friends/coworkers? Seems like a particularly tough nut to crack. But interesting!
Andrew Tye
@ramtin_n probably going to take some iteration tbh! Ratings and referrals on LinkedIn are pretty much useless because anyone can give them. So first off, trying to make sure the feedback comes from people who are qualified to give it. And second, trying to start and maintain a positive mindset for the product and encourage people to focus on being helpful not hurtful.
Ram
Good call. Having a positive mindset is important. Wonder if having something in place (i.e., a Likert type scale) that allows the person asking for feedback to decide how honest they would want their friends to be might be helpful? For example, if my friends know they have my permission to not sugar coat, it could help alleviate any feeling of guilt or uncertainty they might have.

@ramtin_n That is an interesting thought! I have been operating under the assumption most people would ask for the raw feedback, but that I shouldn't necessarily build that functionality in because the goal isn't to crush anyone's feelings! But there may be a way to allow them to choose how candid the responses are without it being negative.... I will keep thinking about it. Thanks for your thoughts!
Andrew Tye
@ramtin_n it seems like a fine line between being candid and attacking someone personally. Still trying to find that balance of honest and helpful feedback that focuses on behavior not personality.

@ramtin_n in case you're interested, just launched https://cosight.app/spotlight/ to help make sure it's a positive atmosphere all the way around

There's something really cool here about asking for feedback when you're ready to get it versus following a predetermine schedule set by someone else (e.g. annual reviews).
Andrew Tye
@rick_lindquist thanks! that's the hope...we seem to have more of a sense of ownership about it when it's this way. Like we're trying to take control of our behavior, not have it dictated to us

Love this @awt! Just need to take steps to ensure it doesn't end up with the same ailments that led to the downfall of Formspring
Andrew Tye
@charlie_bullock thanks for the nice words! I'm not familiar with Formspring...what led to it's downfall??

wow this is a good step in the right direction
