CloudNovel was better 4 years ago when you could just make a game. Now everything's premium and it's so hard to manage what you're doing. Just learn to code and use Ren'Py. You'll thank me later

@matt_chester I’m pretty much a free user, it works fine for me

@matt_chester Not really, making a game now is the same as making a game before, but better, of course. Plus, with constant Game Jams, you get all the points necessary to acquire the premium features. I never bought anything there with real money and didn't have any issues making my games, Ren'py is more robust, sure, but that's because Ren'py not only allows for coding but has been in the market for several years, has a gigantic user base and is the "mainstream visual novel engine". A comparison between the two is not exactly fair right now.

@matt_chester I use premium simply for the few number of benefits it offers. 4 years ago CN didn't have hardly ANY of the amazing features it currently has, and the only features that aren't free are features that would make massive VN's, like mine, easier to manage. If you're making a small VN just to tell a short story premium wouldn't be necessary.

@matt_chester I have been a CloudNovel users since it has been founded and while it was still in beta state. From what I know, whatever that were available for free 4 years ago remains free today. If you can make a game for free 4 years ago then you still can make a game for free today. Premium, in my opinion is just additional features that will ease the work progress but not neccessarily needed to complete a game.

Hey there, I created this website because I didn't want to learn coding to make my games. So, I made a game engine that lets people create games without ever having to learn coding. I'm proud to say we have over 1 million users. There happens to be a lot of people who want to make games without coding.

CloudNovel, quite simply put, is in itself a novel idea. Quick to learn, easy to master, and dependable as a platform for Visual Novel distribution. I often hear the argument to learn programming for yourself but not everyone wants to be a coder. CloudNovel is the experimenter and artist's engine worthy of a second glance or three.

Did you make Cafe Rouge? I played it in high school, and it was fun. I think that's how I got on the mailing with this link. I hope all your dreams come true!

First of all the Community is great and its like a big family. Whenever you have a problem someone is There to help you and its always updated. If you need any option thats not there yet you just need to ask for it and theyll do their best to make it available. Then it is really easy and intuitive to make a novel no need to Hire a technician everyone can Do it. And it saves so much time.

CloudNovel is a great tool for non-programmers. It is really easy to use and took me only several hours to master it and complete a bare minimum visual novel with free-to-use assets. I don't know any programming language nor am I interested in learning or have the patience to learn it. I tried numerous times, failed each time. Therefore, CloudNovel is such an amazing product if you are someone like me. It is an online engine, and it has amazing collaboration features that allow me to create a game together with my friends as if I am playing a game in Co-op mode. Of course, it does have several flaws such as you need a stable internet connection to play the game but for me, the pros outweighed the cons. I have been a user since it first started and I have been loving it. It has a great community that is ready to interact and helps each other. If you are an artist, or a writer, whom without a speck of knowledge of programming but you have this idea that you really wish to ingrain in the form of a visual novel then you should indeed, give CloudNovel a try. If you have any questions, just ask in the Support forum or contact the staff and they will answer it as soon they are available.

Very intuitive. You can learn to use it in one day and make professional-looking visual novels. The engine is constantly updated and improved.

One of the best tool for game creation as it truly allows to make it with no programming experience

CloudNovel is a very nice engine, I used it in a Game Jam before and hoo boy! It's very easy and practical to make games in it, things that would take hours to code in Unity, Godot or even Ren'py are way easier to build here. The development might seem slow since it's being made by one person, but the staff is always helping the community. It's a very nice engine with an awesome community overall. 10/10 recommend

I've used cloudnovel for educational purposes! I converted some classic books for my English class students into click-to-read visual novels so that students could read line by line instead of blocks of text on a page. The added visuals and sounds also aid my students with reading challenges. Side note: I've also made my own visual novel projects for fun on the side, and it's wildly fun.

CloudNovel is basically the easiest way to make a visual novel. It works great by yourself, or even in small teams as everyone can share and work on the same project. It can be super simple with a straight forward linear narrative, or something more complex like a turn based fighting game. CloudNovel works great for me because I can make a great novel with my team while also having the IQ of three stale almonds.

Hello everyone, Neeka from Ostrich Burger Productions here! I wanted to leave a review of the site I use to make all of my games, Cloudnovel. Misconceptions: -Codeless means less capable -Have to pay -Games made with the site are purely online Those are all not true! In turns of 'gamification' you can create click-n-point turn based battles, hidden object games, mini games such as cooking and gardening, and many more. Cloudnovel has a Youtube channel with tutorials and are updating their documentation. You don't have to pay anything at all! While the engine is online, you can download your game for offline play and upload to various sites such as Itch.io and Steam for others. Honestly, I don't think I'd be able to make games the way I do if I couldn't use Cloudnovel. The CEO is down to earth and the community is one of the nicest ones I've ever been a part of. Plus the engine hosts popular features such as animation, video implementation, transitional effects, etc as well as a useful Resource Library. Though if you truly want to understand, why not take a look yourself?

Basically is the best no programming required software for game creation

I have been enjoying cloud novel for 4-5 years it has grown a lot in those years. There are many features for someone who's interested in making a visual novel can do without knowing any coding, which is the selling point. And I have seen the creator themselves and a few other users publishing their finished games on other websites like itch oi and steam.Sonya Fung The creator of cloud novel has mentioned that whatever you make on the engine is yours, and you're able to sell on other platforms with no fee not included the only time you're paying for anything extra besides the pro version of creating a visual novel is the download your work in progress/finished game off the website since it's A browser base engine and there's no off-line version that you can get a hold of. If you want a too easy to learn engine to publish a visual novel, this is a no-brainer. I have use their free and pro-versions on making visual novels, with the differences being not having to use a third-party website for holding arts and music, A way to import a video file, being able to move to another scene in a specific page you're only able to go to another scene and that's it in the free version. There was a small-time where you wasn't able to have a screen which is what you would normally use for like a customized UI, but I heard that she has revoked that idea since it was essential and was available to everyone at first. Another pro advantage was being able to have a popularity poll to see you what the audience were more interested in, and you were able to make custom save slots having the ability to set when the player will be able to save and how many times they were able to save. In the pro version, you're also able to organize your flags. I adore the engine a lot and feel like the CEO when creator of the website is a friend, well, as much as one can be in a casual sense. They regularly give you updates on what they're up to, including announcements on new features and what she plans to do with the other two cloud engines. The community is still small, but it does not mean that they're not active. If you need help, they have a forum section for the users to interact with each other and a Discord.
