hey Alex love the way you've been taking Clearbit over the last year or so! Quick question - when you connect gmail it asks for permission to view your contacts, I'm sure that's required for the functionality but do you pull these into cb to further improve your dataset?

Agree on that. There should be more clear details on whether Clearbit Connect is storing (or using) submitted email records in any way.

Rapportive was useful. Clearbit Connect is really really useful. Finding any business email address feels like magic. If you aren't using this yet, get on it! It's worth it.

Not yet, but we're thinking about a minimalist version for Inbox. Stay tuned :)

Good question! Part of the deal with using Connect is that you share your contacts with us. It's essentially a give-to-get model. This helps us improve our algorithms making our data better for the entire community. We're taking a very careful approach to this, we realize it's a sensitive area. Definitely open for feedback!
are you sending and storing the full emails to your servers? Or just extracting the contact info?
It seems like a fair swap to me - i'd just be super careful about making sure folks realise this is the deal 😄
Been using this for a while and it's great. Definitely the best Rapportive replacement. But the sneaky good prospecting tool is super handy for sleuthing out emails that would otherwise take a while to track down.

I've been using this Chrome extension constantly in Gmail. It pulls in a ton of info about people I'm emailing and where they work (like # of employees and fundraising). I also love that I can quickly look up someone email's address just knowing their name and company. Very slick!
This is an excellent product. I was really sad when rapportive stopped updating their tool, and am glad Clearbit is picking up where they left off. Everything clearbit is doing is really exciting to me, and the connect feature is something I use everyday in my existing flow : )
I've been using this for a few weeks, and it's been great. It's beautiful and works great. Clearbit has been doing awesome things recently.
