This is a huge move for Apple and for Apple search products generally. Users no longer need to be in the Apple ecosystem to access Apple Maps, which should, eventually, be a boon to as well. And for developers, "including those using ", they can "link out to Maps on the web, so their users can get driving directions, see detailed place information, and more."
Honestly, Google Map has a super deep moat. My bookmarks. Reviews. Those two alone will make the decision to move to Apple Maps super hard. But it's always good to see another player in the web map space.
Wow, this is a game changer! Major props to the team for bringing Apple Maps to the web! Can't wait to see how this benefits local businesses and developers. It's gonna be cool to explore all the new features right from the browser. Hopefully, this means even more integration and user-friendly tools for everyone. Excited for the future of mapping!
It looks good for me and I can use it for my work daily
Congratulations on launch! The web version looks amazing. I wonder if it can be used offline?
This is really good for consumers, some competition over Google’s monopoly. I wonder if this could be a step in the direction of going back to the good old days we could embed maps on a website without racking up insane costs.
Apple Maps is now online! You can use it without an Apple phone. Find places, get directions, and explore on your computer. It's still being tested, so expect some changes.
I support all map projects so congrats
