All Blur - Instantly blur your screen for privacy or content creation
by•
All Blur is a lightweight macOS app that instantly blurs your screen with ⌘+Control+B. Perfect for protecting sensitive information when someone walks by or when creating content (photos and videos) in your workspace.

Hey Everyone!
I'm excited to share All Blur, a lightweight macOS app I built out of pure necessity.
As a developer and content creator, I kept running into situations where I wanted to quickly hide what was on my screen. Whether someone walked by in real life or I was recording a behind-the-scenes video, I didn’t want to close a bunch of windows or clean my desktop every time.
So I made All Blur. Just press ⌘ + Control + B and your entire screen gets beautifully blurred. Perfect for:
- Recording content without leaking projects
- Shooting photos or B-roll of your workspace
- Working in coffee shops or shared spaces
It’s super lightweight, works on both Intel and M-series Macs, and gets out of your way when you don’t need it.
Would love to hear your thoughts, feedback, or ideas for improvements. Thanks for checking it out 🙌
@omoseisreal Would love to see this work on parts of the screen. I know not the intention but the Chrome extensions out there are trash and unreliable. My use case is when presenting on Zoom having parts of the screen blurred.

This is such a smart fix 💃I love that you built it from pure necessity 👏 That “Command + Control + B” combo feels like a panic button for privacy. 😂
Does the blur stay active if you switch desktops or external monitors? That could make it even handier for creators who multitask (like me).
[UPDATE]: Fixed the malware issue, however, still cannot get it to run. Even after giving "Screen recording" permission, getting error `Screen recording permission is required`. Tried restarting multiple times.
Love the idea, would like to use it. However, I paid and tried to open it but getting error: Apple could not verify “All Blur” is free of malware that may harm your Mac or compromise your privacy.
Thank you so much for your support! There is no malware issue. All Blur is completely safe. Since I chose not to publish it on the Mac App Store in favor of distributing it myself, the app is unsigned, which is why your Mac may block it by default. To open it, simply right-click the app and select “Open.” It will launch with no issues after that.
If you run into any problems, feel free to email me at omose@extensionbuddy.com. I’m happy to help!
I love these kinds of things - straightforward and useful!

Such a clean little tool. I’ve already used it twice while filming workspace shots, instant privacy without needing to rearrange my whole screen. Love the simplicity.

minimalist phone: reduce your screentime
Are the data or screen recordings somehow accessed by the 3rd party/do they leave my device?
@busmark_w_nika not at all
