AI for Audio: This category is starting to reach uncanny valley levels.
While we're being overwhelmed by visual content created by AI, another medium is slowly being conquered by our inorganic counterparts - audio. Whether it's creating legit radio-worthy music, cloning a voice to do the talking for you, or simply being able to accurately dictate things to your tech one thing is for certain - it's getting scary good. I have no doubt we'll soon cross uncanny valley and start to have troubles distinguishing if audio is human or code, what I start to wonder is, does whoever.... or whatever, generates the output matter?

Developer tools: The products making it easier for devs to ship.
2024 has been a game-changer for dev tools, especially with AI stepping up in a big way. Tools like Cursor, Warp, and Replit have become staples in my workflow, saving me countless hours. Whether it’s sorting out obscure syntax or generating boilerplate code, leaning on AI has taken a lot of the grunt work out of development. Honestly, it’s hard to imagine coding without them now. This year has shown just how transformative AI can be for developers, and I can’t wait to see how it evolves in 2025.
Going it alone
Bootstrapped: The teams and products doing it without the big bucks.
Bootstrapped teams are out here reminding us that big budgets aren’t everything. VoiceNotes is one of those “how did I live without this?” tools, turning your voice memos into searchable notes that actually make sense. And Capacities’ mobile app? It’s like having a second brain in your pocket, letting you capture and connect ideas on the fly. These aren’t flashy, over-engineered products—they’re just smart, thoughtful tools that make life a little easier. Honestly, that’s what makes them so good.

Are you really still typing?

Full disclosure: Wispr Flow is the AI dictation tool most of us at Product Hunt (use we still have a few holdout typers, what romantics). Hold a key, talk, and clean text drops straight into whatever app you're already in — Slack, email, Notion, your IDE, wherever your cursor lives. No switching windows. No copy-paste ritual. Just say the thing – yes, you can whisper it – and even your most run-on sentences will be turned into polished writing at 4x the speed of typing.
