When do you think the AI hype will die down?

Honestly, I believe it can go 5+ years with how fast this field moves.

Good question! I want to say less than a year, following other trends but A.I is different, it has the potential to constantly evolve and do that at a faster rate than say Web3. It's not AI that is fascinating, it's what will be built from it.

@aaronoleary Yep, that's what I think too. The way to constantly evolves allows it to last far longer

According to Gartner hype cycle for AI, Generative AI will reach the plateau of productivity with 2 to 5 years.

Clearly it is The million-dollar question: you may want to (1) subscribe to the AI for Marketing newsletter where this is discussed ( https://getinference.beehiiv.com/) and read this very thorough analysis of the situation here: https://luttig.substack.com/p/is...

I think 5+ years as well. Chat GPT just showed how much can be achieved with AI. We're definitely far from perfect but it's a good start and it created extreme hype around AI in general even for non-techies.

Maybe, but only after you show some love ❤️ for Lens (https://www.producthunt.com/post...), we launched today! On a serious note, no AI is just getting started and ramping up week after week!
I doubt it will die down anytime soon. A lot of things in the world are integrated with AI these days and there’s more to come. Meanwhile, we just launched an AI-powered product discovery tool that cuts down research time from 7hrs to 7mins. You can check it out here (https://www.producthunt.com/post...)

I doubt it will die as many big players are yet to join the space- I believe googles AI text and Image model will be more powerful and useful then openAIs

The hype may come and go, but the power of these large language models, it's here to stay. And let me tell you, this current generation is something special. It's like nothing we've ever seen before. You can build things, smart things, that were just impossible before, and it doesn't take a team of thousands. It's like having a magic wand in your hand. And you know what, this is just the beginning, and the possibilities are endless.

I hope it will be 5 years as you mentioned, so my newsletter can last longer.😂😂 https://whowhatwhyai.substack.co...
The hype? Fairly quickly. The efficacy? Not for a long long long while. Get privy to it now, folks.

AI hype will ebb and flow. New interfaces, devices, and machines integrated with AI will be released that amaze the masses. Right now it's chatGPT and other similar apps. Next, it will be some other device type or UI type, then a fully Autonomous robot, or something else for example.
Andrew Mutavdzija
Considering how much farther Chat GPT 4 may potentially go (relative to 3), probably not soon. Reportedly, up to 1 trillion parameters vs. the 175 billion present in 3, for example.

Die? It's just getting warmed up. AI is constantly evolving and making advancements, so it is likely that interest in the technology will continue for the foreseeable future. As AI becomes more integrated into various industries and daily life, it may become less of a "hype" and more of a normal aspect of society.

I definitely think we at the beginning of mainstream adoption. When chatGPT goes paid the hype may subside probably just in time for gpt-4

It's will not die really, we go to a new area ! I working on app who use AI right now and it's way better than before ;)

Hype — probably in a couple of years. Use cases — never, or rather, not in any meaningfully foreseeable future (same as it's been with smartphones, apps, social media, online video etc.)

I'd say alot of us will keep it under the spotlight in the coming years. ChatGPT3 is just the start of this. ChatGPT4 would be crazy.
