Does the JetBrains version support custom model configurations? I could see experienced developers waiting pretty fine grained control over that.

@desire_waterman We generally support BYOK and local models but if you have a model in mind please tell us more, it's likely to be shipped faster than you think!
Having 500+ models sounds useful, but i am curious how easy it is to pick the right one for a specific task.

@sawyer_benjamin I hear you on this, right now each model is attributed with description: cost, capabilities it help but it's not enough, we will integrate kilo bench insights pretty soon!
Native is the key word here. I've tried extensions that just wrap a web view inside JetBrains and they always feel bolted on.

@fmerian Exactly. I think BYOK makes a big difference when you already have a preferred model or API provider and do not want to be tied to one option.

surprisingly good! i also like that it supports local models through Ollama and LM Studio. not everyone wants to rely only on hosted AI.

@fmerian Yeah, having local model support is useful, especially for people who want more control over their setup. Ollama and LM Studio make that option much easier to use.

I like the idea of seeing PRs and diffs right inside the IDE. It should make checking AI changes much less annoying.
