How do solo iOS makers actually measure usage?

The App Store shows downloads, revenue, crashes. Fine as a pulse check. Not enough if you care what people do inside the app: which paywall they hit, whether they finish a session, whether a feature even got used.

For Briskly I built a small event tracker and a private dashboard for that. It works. I m just not sure it s the smartest use of solo time, or if there s a simpler setup most people use.

Recall release notes - July 30, 2026 - A big upgrade to search

Excited to share that we have improved our Search flow in Recall! Search has moved out of the small popup and into your library, so results now fill the full page. That means a lot more room to see what you've found, and everything you'd normally do with your cards still works on the results. FYI: The improvement lands on desktop first, with a mobile overhaul to follow shortly.

Check out our quick video walkthrough of how it works.

Skim v1.0.16 — "Are You Still There?" 👻

The one where Skim stops impersonating a corpse.

A self-update could relaunch Skim into a window with a titlebar and nothing. Restarts didn't help. Reinstalling didn't help. Then, hours later, it just came back which is somehow more unsettling than staying broken.

Turns out nothing was broken. The whole UI was waiting on the first mailbox query, that query was politely queued behind the catch-up sync, and the app had no way to say "hang on, I'm reading" so it said nothing at all. For hours. In an empty window. Cool.
