Visible

It's phone service. In an app.

0.8/5
About

Visible is a phone service in an app. $40/mo all-in for unlimited data, messages and minutes all on Verizon's 4G LTE network.

Would you recommend this product?

Don't sign up with Visible. I got the sim card yesterday. The service is slow as slow can be. Loading websites is PAINFUL. Their app sucks. Their customer support sucks even worse. I for instance ordered the sim car with a new number so I could TRY the service without cancelling my verizon account. Did you know you can't port a number later? You didn't? Well how the hell would you? Every other service allows that. Their customer support is flippant and unhelpful. They would not offer a refund. AVOID!

Pros:

Price

Cons:

Very Very Slow To Load Website - AWFUL Customer Service - Can't Port a Phone Number AFTER you sign up to TRY the service....only at signup

I’ve been trying to port my old number that I ported to Visible to a carrier that will actually give me working service. Visible won’t respond on their chat or Messenger what my account or PIN numbers are. I’m ready to give up my phone number of the last decade, just so I can get working service elsewhere. What a nightmare!

Signup went pretty quick, only issue I had was that I needed to contact support to find out that I needed to follow my verizon account number with a "-1", so "XXXXXXXXX-1". Other than that, signup went quick and my customer service rep Christian was prompt, Knowledgeable, and helpful. I expect this to be just like my normal service since it its on Verizon's backbone. I will update this review if I run into any issues.

Pros:

Easy Signup

Half the cost of my old plan

Unlimited Data

Responsive Customer Care

App is dead simple

Cons:

No "Pop Data" (yet?)

No Tethering (yet?)

When you sign up for cellphone service the expectation is that you'll have reliable - wait for it - cellphone service. With Visible, you don't get that. Not only is the reception bad, but customer service is extremely unhelpful. They offer apologies instead of solutions and would rather lose a customer then issue a simple account credit. Looking for a new provider? Look at Ting.

Pros:

good marketing, sim card tool

Cons:

cellphone service, customer service

Techy type

Signed up on a Thursday and received email that phone line transferred on same day. At this point, while still on old carrier, half my text contacts could not text me (though I could still contact them). Tried to log back into Visible App at this, but would not accept password and had to reset. Emailed reset link would not work (which Visible said was a known issue) and it took until Tuesday to resolve that. SIM arrived overnight on Friday. Tried to use SIM multiple times from Friday until Wednesday but service would not activate. App still hung up on "waiting for phone line transfer" and customer service indicated they need another day or two to resolve issue. Taking a week to activate a phone line was too long for me

Pros:

Non - Visible never got it to work after 6 days

Cons:

No 24 hr cust or tech service. Coding/App errors. Not enough workers to resolve issues in a timely manner. Not yet a usable phone service

So far my experience is not good, I ordered a device Tuesday night and I ordered another yesterday morning. I have not received my tracking information on either, I didn’t get a email about what’s going on with my orders. I made a second order to test the internet speeds just in case I decide to return my first order. I talked to a rep about my first order, it’s like I was given a BS excuse. Now, Visible all you have to do is send me a phone and SIM card is it that hard.? Now I have to wait til Monday or Tuesday to see if I will receive either device or can I cancel the orders.

Visible is the worst mobile carrier I have used by far. It sure sounded exciting at the beginning- they overnighted me my new SIM card when I signed up. That definitely made me feel like a VIP. Everything started up pretty easily for me. However, I tried to get my wife signed up and it was a total failure. She has the exact same type of phone (iphone 7) as I do, but for some reason they couldn't make it work on hers. Eventually, she gave up and signed up with a different carrier. Things were working out ok for me, but I started to notice that Visible service was a bit slow, despite being on the blue-chip Verizon network. I had an instant comparison, because my work phone (also iphone 7) runs Verizon. Reception was worse with Visible, and data lagged. Then suddenly my Visible data stopped working altogether. I could not even send text messages that were not iMessages, let alone load a website when not on wifi. I tried contacting Visible customer service to sort this out, but no customer care rep ever replied to me on Live Chat, either through the Visible app or through the website. Of course, they also do not have a customer service phone number. Bizarrely, Visible just mailed me a box of branded Visible gear as a "gift." It contained a Visible logo hat, Visible logo aviator sunglasses and a Visible logo water bottle. I feel like these were extras left over from their latest corporate retreat. This was pretty tone-deaf. I do not want their branded corporate crap. All of this is going straight to the landfill. 100% awful for the environment. I would much rather have had a discount on my next bill (or a smidgen of actual customer care) than a hat with their logo on it. Visible puts out a poor product and has nonexistent customer service. I just gave up and switched to a different carrier. STAY AWAY! PROS: *new SIM card ships out fast *in theory, you get access to Verizon's great network at a low cost CONS: *virtually zero customer support *general serious technical issues all around *data stopped working for me and was not fixed...without data even the low price is a bad deal

if your going to port you number DO NOT DO IT! I've been waiting for 26 days now with a non functioning phone, you wait hours to get a hold of a support agent only to be told they have to escalate the case and I'll hear back from someone in 24-48 hours only you never do, yesterday was 9 hours of waiting and never got anyone, today it was 5 hours and got one but same story as every other time I contacted them case escalated to somewhere? at least pre previous phone still mostly functions, the port was obviously started at the very beginning since I lost some text and all mms functionality

Their customer service is beyond atrocious. I signed up on July 28, the phone arrived inoperative and I had to return it. The only contact is via online chat which requires keeping the web page open while you slog through a 30-45 minute or longer queue or text messaging which requires you to be ready to respond instantly when they text back 3-4 hours later. I sent the phone back, they recieved it 4 days ago but still haven't credited it so I can get another Latest response after waiting in chat queue for 40 minutes is I will get credit for the return sometime next week even though the phone arrived at their return center on Tuesday. Then I can start the process all over again.

I can not express how much poor this service is. Visible has charged me over a thousand dollars for services not received and has refused to refund me or even contact me to resolve the issue. I have spent countless hours on their chat line attempting to get in contact with someone that can process my returns and simply give me my money back. That is the short version of my story, here are the details. Three weeks ago I ordered a phone with sim card from them. However, by using their app to do this (do not do this), I was charged the full amount to a the wrong account. This resulted in me having to return the phone when it was delivered. Shipping information was lost and I still to this day have not been able to receive a refund even though I have contacted FedEx and found that it was delivered weeks ago. My second attempt (also do not do this) arrived today after much delay. The phone arrived but the sim card is absent. There is support from customer service. The best bet is the text or twitter lines. The chat box on the website is useless. Expect three hour waits on the text line to be told that a specialist will contact you in 24 hours or less and that your case is a priority. I have been told this three times and at no point have I received a phone call from them. I am refunding everything and using PayPal's Buyer Protection to get my money back.

I have been trying to get service for seven weeks and it has been nothing but trouble. I have waited on char four hours or more several times. The only answer I get is “We will refer this to a specialist and it will be fixed in 24-48 hours.

Data is comically slow. You get NO guaranteed high speed data. You will only get high speed data if the Verizon towers are not busy, but they are busy 90% of the time.

I wish this company was invisible Signed up for their notifications when they'd add support for my phone. Got the email saying they were ready for me. Everything went through with their IMEI checker and got my SIM card ordered. Fine. Pop the SIM card in and it won't activate. Support has me do all sorts of weird stuff, only to end up telling me "woops, we don't support your phone after all". Big hassle to reactivate my old service and port my number back. I guess I should be thankful that I'm dodging a bullet by not moving forward with this hot mess.

It took over a week to try to port my number and the sim card wouldn't work after every conceivable test that we tried. Their customer service sucks and they need to get their act together.

I recommended this cellular carrier because I am using it (and they gave a promotional discount for joining. I have had some issues, but NOTHING COMPARED WITH my spouse. For 2 weeks he waited for tech support to get his cellular data working. Finally, he just gave up. Went to Verizon (who does not own Visible, they just lease the network to Visible). His phone was locked up for data useage, so he just bought another phone! We got nothing working except phone service ... for more than 2 weeks. Visible is a Very New company and they haven't gotten it together yet. New phone cost with trade in: $600. Well, we really saved money haven't we!

I switched service in July 2019. The idea of saving money every month on my fixed income was a plus. (I bit) I could trade in my phone for once of theirs....(I bit) Service was supposed to begin on July 12. It didn't. Hours and hours speaking to their customer service reps who could only give scripted answers. Finally on August 26 I was able to use the service. They gave me an $80 credit which showed up in their records as amount owed. Needless to say $80 came out of my account causing a minus in my checking account. I never bounce checks. I was very patient and felt that because they are a new company glitches happen. Well that is over now because they messed with my money. DO NOT SWITCH to VISIBLE. It will now cost me money I cannot afford to switch back to. Be aware of this company.

Activation is glitchy, support response is slow. Coverage is spotty (I have Verizon and my phone’s quality is better than that of visible) I cancelled the service before it started after being with their support for over an hour and waiting for 24hrs for someone to contact me. Then I have to chat with their online support to cancel the service. My refund request was put in on wed and was told 3-5 days of processing time. I hope I got my money back.

Just signed up for service, got the visible R2, Process is super simple and fast. The phone got shipped Fedex, got it in 1 day. After several speed test readings in different parts of the city, I noticed the speed is blocked at 5 MBps download. This is a Shame, when I purchased was under the impression that speeds would be between 5- 15 MBPS, only hotspot was kept at 5 download. I was hoping that would be true, but it is NOT. What a disappointment!!! Most likely will not be keeping service beyond 1 month.

This company is unbelievable in a bad way the only thing they have going for them is the unlimited data! I started on the 3RD of last month this month they want to get paid a day early or they will suspend my service! I told them I get paid once a month on the 3RD that's why I waited until the 3RD to activate the service! They don't care!!! I guess if I decide to stay with this branch of Verizon I have to make sure to put aside the $40 the month before to prevent interuption! Now as for the service? It's no better than Sprint, T-Mobile or ATT everywhere I didn't have service with the other companies visible also doesn't work? I know they favor the post paid customers when it comes to coverage because even in a dark Red Verizon area that the others don't work I have no service I tried rebooting the phone event but nope! I see bars but the tower refuses to give service. You get what you pay for!
