Apple has officially unveiled a revamped Siri, now known as Siri AI.
It s a complete rebuild powered by Apple Intelligence, which includes personal context understanding, broad world knowledge, and onscreen awareness.
It can now search through your emails, messages, and photos to surface relevant information on demand.
Siri AI also features a dedicated app that syncs conversation history across all your devices through iCloud, so you can start a chat on your Mac and continue it on your iPhone. That sounds impressive on paper.
But here is the elephant in the room: ChatGPT and Gemini have been doing most of this for two years. Is Apple genuinely innovating, or is this just a very polished catch-up job dressed in premium marketing?
Hi everyone!
HomeView switches to whoever walks up to it. It knows up to six people by face and voice, so everyone gets their own home screen, and "play music" plays from the right person's library.
Your Messages and Calendar only appear when it recognizes you and your paired iPhone or iPad is nearby and recently unlocked. Guests still get music, timers and the lights. Simple rule, easy to trust!
Whether it earns a spot on the counter is up to Siri AI. Would love to get through the little things at home without having to pick up my phone every time :)
The face-and-voice recognition per person is the detail I find most interesting. I work on a voice AI that phones aging parents every day, and the hardest part has been getting older users to trust a voice they can't see. Does HomeView let a guest or a family member check in on someone's home screen remotely, or is everything strictly local to whoever is standing in front of it? Curious how you are thinking about shared households with an older adult.
