Hi Product Hunt community! 👋 I’m Mori, the developer of WaveMaker. I’d love to share the quirky story behind how this app came to life! Originally, I was planning to build a physical, hand-waved hardware instrument using microcontrollers like M5Stack. My inspiration came from the "insect flute" (虫笛) in Studio Ghibli’s classic anime Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind—a small flute that you swing in the air to calm giant insects with its wind-like sound. To test this gesture-based concept before building the physical hardware, I set up a quick prototype using my smartphone’s built-in sensors. But as I tested it, I realized something: waving and shaking the smartphone itself was incredibly fun, intuitive, and highly addictive! That's when I shifted gears. I decided to bring this unique, tactile musical experience directly to everyone's smartphones, and that’s how WaveMaker was born. By harnessing your phone's built-in accelerometer and gyroscope, we turned simple gestures—like shaking, tilting, or waving—into real-time synth modulation. No musical background or DTM knowledge needed. 🎁 A Special Gift for the Product Hunt Community: To say thank you for checking us out today, we’ve hidden a secret "Full Premium Unlock" inside the app just for you! Open WaveMaker and go to the Settings screen. Tap the "Version Number" 10 times consecutively. Enjoy all premium features unlocked for free! We’d love to hear your feedback, thoughts, and what kind of sounds you manage to make! What features should we add next? Thank you so much for your support! 🙏
