Hey Product Hunt πŸ‘‹ I’m Cassidy from the Wave Browser team. We built Wave because we believe technology should help solve real problems β€” including plastic and trash pollution in our ocean. Through our partnership with 4ocean, everyday browsing helps fund verified cleanup of plastic and trash from our ocean, rivers, and coastlines. There’s nothing extra to do. You browse as usual, and Wave helps support cleanup crews working around the world. We’d love your thoughts on the product, the mission, or how everyday tech can create real environmental impact. Thanks for checking us out and for helping us make waves 🌊

@bekjon_ibragimovΒ Thanks so much for the support and the upvote! πŸ™Œ We know the idea is a little different, but that’s exactly why we built it. Hope you enjoy trying Wave out. Let us know what you think once you’ve had some time with it 🌊

@cassidy_techΒ Love this concept! If more large corporations adopted mindsets like these the world would be a much better place!

@usplusaidotcomΒ Thank you, we really appreciate that! πŸŒπŸ’™ We believe meaningful change often starts with small, practical shifts, and we’re hopeful that more companies will build purpose directly into the tools people already use every day.

Nika

It is still pleasant to see how a daily usage of technology can contribute to something meaningful (especially in the environment or societal aspect). Good idea :)

Cassidy
Hunter

@busmark_w_nikaΒ Really appreciate that 😊 That’s exactly what we’re aiming for: turning something people already do every day into a positive force without adding extra effort. Thanks for checking out Wave and for the encouraging words!

Anton Loss

It has a built-in Ad-blocker as well as AI-assistant! Truly modern browser!

Cassidy
Hunter

@avlossΒ Thanks! πŸ™Œ We wanted Wave to stand on its own as a solid, modern browser first: productivity tools, helpful features, and a clean experience with the ocean impact built right in. Glad those features stood out to you!

@conduit_designΒ Haha, love that πŸ„β€β™‚οΈπŸŒŠ Thanks for riding the wave with us, stoked to have you here!

Henry Adams

This is a great idea! How do you generate the funding for the clean up, is it similar to ecosia?

Cassidy
Hunter

@henry_adams5 Great question, and thank you! 🌊

The idea is similar in spirit to Ecosia, but works a bit differently. Wave Browser generates revenue through the browser ecosystem itself, and a portion of that revenue goes toward funding verified ocean cleanup through our partnership with 4ocean. As people browse normally, that collective usage helps support real cleanup crews removing plastic and trash from oceans, rivers, and coastlines.

No extra steps or changes to how you browse, just everyday use contributing to real impact.

Jay Dev

Wow, Wave Browser is awesome! Love that simply browsing helps clean the ocean. Im curious, how does the partnership with 4ocean actually work on the backend to track the cleanup impact of each user?

Cassidy
Hunter

@jaydev13Β Great question, and thanks for the kind words!

Wave has a certified cleanup partnership with 4ocean, meaning a portion of our revenue supports real cleanup crews removing plastic and trash from our ocean, rivers, and coastlines. Impact is tracked and verified through 4ocean’s reporting, and we share progress transparently so users can see how the collective impact adds up. Happy to dive deeper if you’re curious!

Romain Bauer
Great Product and Great mission ! Congrats. Could we integrate AI recommendations too in the search ?
Cassidy
Hunter

@romainbauerΒ Thanks for the kind words! 🌊 Wave includes an optional AI Assistant, and we’re always listening to feedback as we plan future AI features. We want to balance innovation with a great user experience and our commitment to environmental impact.

Kandalia Kiki

I would like to use it but i'm curious on how this works ? still a bit skeptical

Cassidy
Hunter

@kandalia_kikiΒ Totally understand.

Wave works like a normal, modern browser, but through our partnership with 4ocean, everyday browsing helps fund verified cleanup of plastic and trash from our ocean, rivers, and coastlines. There’s nothing extra you need to do, and we focus heavily on transparency so users can understand how the impact is generated. Happy to answer any specific questions you have!

GermΓ‘n Merlo

Love the initiative Cassidy. Hope it's not to late to save the Ocean and browsering through Wave Browser is enough to help on the purpose

Cassidy
Hunter

@german_merlo1Β Thank you so much πŸ’™ It can definitely feel overwhelming at times, but we believe progress is built from small, collective actions. Browsing with Wave isn’t the whole solution, but when thousands of people do it together, it becomes real, measurable support for ocean cleanup. That shared momentum is what gives us hope. 🌊

Pavel Tseluyko

Wow it's such a great initiative. Will be a pure pleasure from using the browser knowing people will go and clean the ocean thanks to this.

Cassidy
Hunter

@pasha_tseluykoΒ That truly means a lot, thank you! 🌊 Our goal was to make using the browser feel just as good as it works, knowing it supports real ocean cleanup. We’re glad you’re part of the wave helping make that possible.
