Kiwidget v1.3.0

by

Hey everyone :)

This Friday, February 27, 2026, I’m releasing Kiwidget 1.3.0.

For those who haven’t seen it before, Kiwidget is a macOS app I built to bring together all the little tools I use daily as a web designer / front-end dev. Things like converting a font, resizing an image for social media, generating a CSS snippet, optimizing a PDF…

Individually, they’re small tasks. But switching between 10–15 browser tabs every day adds up. So I decided to build a single, clean desktop toolbox where everything lives in one place.

Over time it grew into 30+ widgets covering file conversion, design helpers, dev utilities, and everyday productivity tools.

Version 1.3.0 is a meaningful step forward.

There are new additions:

  • A Webfonts Converter to quickly generate web-ready fonts

  • A GIF Maker for demos, UI previews, or quick content

  • A Social Media Image Resizer to export visuals without guessing dimensions

But honestly, the biggest work happened behind the scenes.

I spent a lot of time optimizing performance — reducing CPU usage, lowering RAM consumption, improving responsiveness, and making the app more energy-efficient overall. It simply feels lighter and smoother now, especially on longer sessions.

Kiwidget is still an independent project, and I’m improving it step by step based on real-world use (mostly mine at first, then users’ feedback).

If you’re a designer, frontend dev, or just someone who appreciates having practical tools neatly organized in one app, I’d love for you to take a look when 1.3.0 goes live.

Happy to answer any questions or hear your thoughts.
