Did you bootstrap (for real)?

by

Most founders that say they’re bootstrapped usually mean that they’re bootstrapped, but with cushion. Family money. Great savings. Or at least a very comfortable Plan B.

For us, bootstrapping has meant pausing life, burning savings (what savings?!) and choosing uncertainty daily. Building slower than we’d like. Saying no to comfort. It’s also meant working multiple jobs at once, not because hustle culture is cute, but because life is expensive. F***in hate hustle culture in any case.

It’s all strangely clarifying. When there’s no safety net, intent stops being a buzzword. You can’t fake it for long. Giving up is easy, and it feels awesome when you don’t.

Today, we went live with a wholly rebuilt effort. If you’re in Bangalore and curious, try SlideSocial. Every new member genuinely helps us build this community - one city, properly, at a time.

Also, you’d be helping a couple of broke-ass founders out. Download now on iOS and Android: /bit.ly/lkgssrr (please ;).

I'd love to hear your unsexy bootstrapping stories. Let’s make a real effort to help each other grow - especially if your idea too aims to make meaningful change.
