Sukha - Work faster & happier in a global co-working group

We're a focus app that uses co-working to help you get more done. If you've ever wanted more energy, motivation or just a way to block out distractions, Sukha is the co-working website where productivity-minded people focus together.

Sukha sounds like an amazing solution for remote workers! Combining focus tools with a supportive community is such a brilliant idea, especially considering the challenges of distraction and loneliness. The integration of Social Facilitation Theory to enhance productivity is fascinating and definitely resonates with the way teams like Nike Run Clubs and Navy SEALS operate. Congrats on the initial success! 🎉 Can you share any interesting insights or user stories from your first 1,000 members? Also, are there any upcoming features or community events we should look forward to? Can't wait to see how Sukha evolves! 🚀 @steven_puri

@tony_creator Hey, Tony - Actually two of the most interested learnings were that some of our members were so deeply in their flow state that they missed meetings. We solved this by allowing you to connect your Gcal and that way a voice prompt will tell you when you have a meeting in 5 minutes (so you can prep). Another was that live video is too distracting. We tried to do what many apps do (most apps are just a Zoom room that they charge for) and the reality is that "presence" is better when it's just 5-10x/minute not live. Tuning these really helped our UX. We're at 96% MoM paid retention now! Thanks for asking. - Steven

I came across this app through a friend's recommendation and gave it a go, to be honest, it's kinda meh at the moment, feels a bit too crowded and distracting and I wonder how it would be if there were different rooms for different tasks or industries, just a suggestion but what if you could add some personalized playlists too, has potential but still early days

@alexandreinno Hey, Alexandre - Thanks for your honest feedback. Let me mention a few things that might be helpful: 1. You can hook up your Spotify if you don't find anything in our 1000+ hours of focus music. 2. Love to hear your thoughts on what is crowded and distracting. Hit me up anytime at Steven@TheSukha.co. 3. Yes, for larger groups we've set-up private rooms that are invisible from the main group, and some of them are based around specific interests. Best, - Steven

Okay, another co-working app, huh? What's gonna set this apart from stuff like Focusmate or Be Focused? Curious if you've got plans for integrating video calls or more interactive features to keep the community vibe strong, thoughts on that?
Steven Puri
@copycraftsman Hey, Stuart - There are a TON of productivity apps, co-working apps, task managers, etc. NOT ONLY are you right...but I've tried and churned from most of the popular ones. Really what you wrote is the answer, and I think you intuitively know that. We believe that we are human and yes, Sukha can provide a robust tool-set of focus features, but the real magic is in the supportive community that we foster. I'm proud to be part of us and welcome you to try it - skepticism and criticism encouraged. We can't grow if we live in an echo chamber! With respect, - Steven

Another focus app disguised as a co-working solution, really? Have you guys checked out Focusmate or Caveday? They kinda do the same thing, not sure what makes this one different, maybe the community aspect will make it stand out but color me skeptical
Steven Puri
@cloudarchdevops Yann - Skepticism is really smart. I actually used to use a bunch of these (and tried the rest just to see how they felt). Is Sukha different? Maybe. Do we offer a set of focus tools like 1000+ hours of focus music, phone distraction blockers, pomodoro timers and task management? Do we have helpful voice prompts to let you know you have a meeting coming up? (Yes, a bunch of devs told us they got so deeply in a flow state they were missing stand-ups until we launched this calendar integration) Do we allow you to pull in your tickets from Asana, Linear, etc. and mark them as done? Do we have a community of positive people who support each other? Yes. But the real measure is: does it help you. It may, it may not. That's why we made it free for 14 days with no "enter your credit card and remember to cancel or we'll quietly bill you" bs. The question is really yours to answer. Michael and I are here to serve you however we can.

I've tried similar tools before and they never seem to really fix the underlying issue of distractions, the community aspect sounds nice but I wonder how well it really works in practice, I guess it might help but honestly not sure if this would make a lasting difference, especially with all the other focus apps out there, thoughts anyone
Steven Puri
@devopsleader Chris, aka "devopsleader" You are 100% right to be skeptical. I have used and churned from a ton of focus tools, todo list apps/task managers, etc. There is nothing I want to say re: what you wrote, except I've felt the same way and if you want the only real answer - it's the one that you'll find from trying it. Michael and I believe in the solution so much that we give a 14-day free trial without any credit card bs, etc. And if you try it and hate it...I'm still super interested in your opinion so we can keep improving. - Steven, aka "tryingtohelppeoplelikemyself"

This is a great experience for remote work and I can see how it encourages focus. Fantisimo @steven_puri !
Steven Puri
@jon_werner Thank you for the wonderful support, Jon! You have seen us grow in the time that we've been part of the F.I.E.S.T.A. community that you and Cherie created. And goodness knows, you guys understand why community is important. Thrilled to talk about what we're creating in October at FIESTA here in Austin.

A great idea! Haven't seen a community for people to focus together except the traditional video-chat platforms. Being able to find all productivity extras in one place looks very original.
Steven Puri
@alexandra_describy Alexandra - When you come try Sukha...our aim is to delight you. I hope to see you soon. Come say hi in the group chat! - Steven
