I was inspired to build Subscriptly because I personally experienced how easy it is to lose money on subscriptions you forget about. Small charges add up, and most tools either felt too complex or didn’t really change behavior. I wanted something simple, intentional, and actually useful in day-to-day life. The problem I was trying to solve was clarity. People don’t just need a list of subscriptions—they need awareness, reminders at the right time, and insights that help them make better decisions without friction. My approach evolved a lot during the build. I started feature-heavy, then quickly realized simplicity was the real value. I shifted toward a cleaner experience, focusing on the essentials first: visibility, reminders, and control. This launch became less about shipping “everything” and more about shipping the right thing—and learning directly from users to guide what comes next.
