This makes me think, what other industries should take a similar approach. - are you planning to expand to other markets like jewelry, cars, or pogs. 😉

streetwear (supreme), handbags, pure collectibles like coins, comics, toys, etc....there is a long list, for sure. Maybe we can bring back baseball cards and beanie babies, too! The main reason the card market collapsed was because there was no transparency..everyone thought they were the only person with 11 Tony Gwynn '83 Donruss - but we all had them. StockX is about transparency, as much as anything else.
Books. Lots of underground hunting in the art/design/photography original press hardcovers.
I see the closet overlap being fashion (like Grailed) and artwork

StockX is a real stock market - a live marketplace where buyers place 'Bids' and sellers place 'Asks.' When a Bid and Ask match, the sneakers are shipped. All sneakers are authenticated by StockX. There's Sneakerhead data, including a real-time price guide, deep market analysis, historical sales data, sneakerhead significance and more.

Thanks so much JT. Very excited about the launch. StockX is the natural evolution of Campless - which was created almost exactly 4 years ago. The vision we had then - a stock market of sneakers - has not only come to fruition, but with the support and partnership of Dan Gilbert, we've built a stock market of THINGS, the worlds first stock market for consumer goods. Congrats and team! I've been using the Beta since the first wave of invites and I've got to say. The way you've iterated the product in such a short amount of time speaks to the quality of your team, users, and investors! This is going to be a big one, man! Slightly embarrassed to say, but I was also the reseller of their very first "fake" sneaker. The team was so gracious in the way they responded and took quick action. Keep it up, y'all!!

This is awesome. As an avid ebay user (mostly for sneakers), I've hoped they would add more analytics and pricing tools for consumer. You beat 'em to it.
I'm friends with a bunch of "sneakerheads" - cannot wait to share this.

Almost broke the upvote button hitting it so hard. Looks like under the Nike SB's theres a full spectrum of Janoskis but zero mention of Kostons or P-Rods, is more "stock" being slow rolled? Love the user portfolios, are these value amounts authenticated by transactions wholly through StockX to date, or limited eBay tracking like the ADP?

Kostons, P-Rods and just about every other shoe you can think of will eventually be added. Data on the site, include historical sales and sneaker collections (portfolios) come from the resell market as a whole, including StockX, other marketplace sites, other resell sites, consignment shops and even some sales happening on social networks
