Built a list of 2,000+ investors — here’s how

by

Hey everyone 👋

Recently, I spent time building a list of 2,000+ investors for outreach.

A lot of people ask where to even start, so here’s what actually worked for me.

I used OpenVC to filter investors by stage (pre-seed/seed), industry (AI), and region.

Then I manually went through profiles, checked their websites, and collected relevant contacts.

It’s simple, but very time-consuming.

One small trick that helped:
If a website doesn’t show an email, I just search
“[VC firm name] email address”

You’d be surprised how often you can find useful info that way.

I also used Perplexity AI to help structure the data and export it into Excel.

Overall, this took weeks.

But I think that’s the point, most people don’t want to do this kind of work.

If you’ve done something similar, curious how you approached it.
