Building SmartVoiceNotes: turning messy voice memos into structured notes (would love feedback)
I’m Shae, a founder obsessed with solving one specific problem: why do our “productivity tools” still leave us cleaning up long transcripts and forgetting the good stuff?
Most of us have tried transcription tools. They’ll spit out a wall of text… but it’s messy, bloated with filler words, and nearly impossible to scan later.
The result? Instead of saving time, you’re left cleaning up a transcript that feels like doing the work twice.
There’s also the human side: studies show our note-taking efficacy drops sharply once we try to listen and write at the same time. You either capture incomplete notes or miss half of what’s being said. Neither is great.
That’s why I’m building SmartVoiceNotes — an app that doesn’t just transcribe, it distills. Record your thoughts or meetings, and it outputs structured notes, clean summaries, and action items you can actually use.
I just posted my first demo, and I’d love feedback from this community:
When you’ve used transcription tools, what frustrated you the most?
Do you prefer raw transcripts as a safety net, or would you rather always get a clean summary?
What integrations (Slack, Notion, email, etc.) would make this indispensable for you?
