I take screenshots all the time. This could be useful for managing all of them (and cleaning up my desktop).

I'm a fan of this already. Like @rrhoover said, I also take a ton of screenshots and this is a great little shortcut.

I use ⌘ + ⇧ + 4 multiple times a day. This could definitely clean up that flow. Nice work!

This is a nice alternative to dropbox. Right now, all of my screen shots automatically go into a dropbox screenshot folder. That is really convenient but having quick access from the desktop would come in handy a lot.

@gizboz1 ditto that

I don't mean to be that guy that over hypes a product but this is LIFECHANGING! Super simple and easy organizing for all the screen grabs of my life. Can you add a tag or name a screenshot too?

This is great. I take a lot of screenshots and was sick of the clutter so I changed the default destination of where these screenshots go (a "screenshots" folder). Definitely gonna try this out! http://www.maclife.com/article/c...

This is such a small tweak yet a huge help. I take a HUGE number of screenshots every day to communicate bugs, annotate upcoming features, etc. on @crunchbase. This just makes it that *little* bit easier to not hunt through the Dropbox folder for the right image to attach to JIRA or an email. Great idea.

Such an awesome product. This, along with switching the location where your screenshots are saved, allows you to have a very quick access to your screenshots, while maintaining a clutter-free desktop. Thanks a lot to the makers for keeping this free.

Hi everyone, we can't even believe what a great response we've had. Huge thanks to Product Hunt for helping out all these independent software startups/companies! To answer a few questions: QuickShot is not really made to compete with applications like Ember. Ember is a fully-featured photo and screenshot editor and also costs a whopping $49.99 on the App Store. QuickShot however, is a lightweight tool designed to speed up your workflow and provide users an easy way to share and manage their screenshots from their menubar. It's also free for a limited time, and will never be more expensive than a good cup of coffee :) Also, we'd love to add naming and tagging screenshots, but we need user support to make that happen. We're just a small team of two UCSD students, and we wanted to make sure that the community is interested in the app before we committed even more time and resources into it. Thanks to this great response though, hopefully we can make that happen :)

What are the features that would make an Ember user switch to QuickShot? :)
