There's almost no public content on how to monetize a Chrome Extension.
Google invited us to do a podcast about it, sharing our learnings on how two bootstrapped guys grew Pretty Prompt to 40,000 users, 25% on annual plans, with ~7% weekly growth, with no VC money.
I spent the last week doing the heavy lifting of researching the best prompts across LinkedIn and Reddit and testing them for marketing, social media, strategy, and image generation to see what actually works versus what s just hype.
The last 14 days have been mental. Here s why Pretty Prompt has grown faster in two weeks than our previous product did in 14 months . Crazy. Highlights: - 36 new reviews. More than the last 3 months combined. - 1,000+ new paying users signed up. Still can t believe I m typing that. - We gave a talk at Stripe about our story and using LLMs in production. - And on our side, we have been shipping like crazy. This week is Launch Week. Major updates. New integrations. Small but powerful tweaks. Super excited What people are saying: - My productivity has skyrocketed. It just makes sense the second you use it." - Honestly, it's one of those tools that instantly becomes part of your everyday stack. - No friction, no learning curve. Just genuinely better outputs..." - "The time savings compound quickly." - "The output I'm getting from Pretty Prompt is a million billion times better than what I was getting before. Biggest focus: - Refine v2 better refinement, multiple options, context. - Team Plans shared libraries, multi-user support. - Lovable Integration site-specific prompts for Vibe coding Obsessed with making every day better than the last.
And it all started right here in Product Hunt. The best place to launch new products.
At least it was for us.
Your feedback drives what we're building. Try Pretty Prompt and let me know your thoughts!
@Spotify launched a glitter logo for their 20th anniversary. We decided to celebrate a little earlier. (11 months ) Glittering prompts and AI results since day one.
Still feels surreal. 5 years ago I didn't know what a startup was. Two weeks ago, we stood at @Stripe, sharing what we ve built... and the numbers are crazy:
10,000+ users in under 3 months (now nearly 18,000)
220M+ tokens processed in 90 days (that's ~93k tokens/hour)
Built in a space most people call just a wrapper . we went all-in on a single problem.
179,000 views in 7 days (I guess it s not just us who are geeky about AI tokens )
Here s what we shared at Stripe: milestones, mistakes, learnings, and our honest journey. No here s how you do X , only here s what we ve learned and what worked for us.
Nearly 1,000,000 prompts improved. Thousands of people around the world. And one thing keeps coming up: Most people still don't know how to get started. Not the tech crowd. Not the devs. Or the PMs using claude as a second brain. The travel agent opening ChatGPT for the first time. The teacher building course materials from scratch. The financial advisor trying to automate his day. The field marketing team building their first agent from scratch. We got super obsessed with this gap. So we're trying something new: AI Workshops for non-tech teams.
Taking everything we learned from @Pretty Prompt. and making it jargon-free. Not for the people who already get it. For everyone else (99% of the world) Would absolutely love some thoughts from the community!
Dropping another new feature this week: Image to prompt.
Upload a photo, screenshot, or visual reference and Pretty Prompt reverse-engineers it into a prompt for image models. Great if you know what it looks like, but don't know how to describe it.
