Portl was inspired by my own experience working with web design clients. I initially built it for myself because I kept running into the same problem: the work itself could be great, but the client experience around the work was scattered. Files were in one place, feedback was in another, payment links were somewhere else, and important project details were buried in email threads. I realized clients do not just judge you by the final deliverable. They judge the entire experience of working with you. So I built Portl to give my own clients one clean, professional place to view projects, approve deliverables, submit requests, communicate, and make payments — an experience that felt like my own system, not a collection of random tools. Then people started asking if they could use it too. That is when I realized this was not just a tool for my own workflow. A lot of businesses were dealing with the same problem: they were doing great work, but delivering it through a messy client experience. Portl is what I wish I had when I was managing web design clients: a way to look more organized, reduce back-and-forth, and deliver a client experience that feels premium from the first invite to the final payment.
