PlayAR - Augmented reality games to get you moving

PlayAR is brought to you by #PandaPower. We are a team of three 6th-9th grade girls who compete in the First Lego League competitions. First Lego League is a robotics league for 9-16 year-olds. Around 30,000 teams compete world-wide in this competition. It consists of two primary sections: a (semi-autonomous) robot competition and a "project", which is similar to a science fair project. Every year, there is a global prompt given that addresses a worldwide issue. This year, the theme is called RePLAY, and it focuses on designing a way for people to be more active. As our project submission, we created a set of games called PlayAR, which utilizes augmented reality to overlay a game right on top of your camera. There are currently three games: Flappy Bird AR, Pong AR, and Brick Breaker AR. The goal of the games is to get as many points as possible while doing pushups to play. For example, in Flappy Bird AR, you get to control the bird with your nose. Once you play, you are prompted to submit your score to the PlayAR Leaderboard. We built these games in JavaScript with heavy use of face-api.js to run our face detection and konva.js for the game animations. We’d love for you to try our games and give feedback (HINT: Brick Breaker is particularly challenging but it's the best way to get to the top of the leaderboard).
