Hello everyone! Very excited to finally launch Pastel to all of you. We are a team of 3 freelancers and for the past 6 months, we have been working with over 15 agencies and freelancers to keep iterating on a product we call Pastel. Pastel is designed for agencies and freelancers to make it easier to mark up live websites with feedback. We grew tired of seeing vague feedback and screenshots in long emails, so we built a way to turn any website into an interactive canvas and make leaving comments as easy as leaving sticky notes on a webpage. That's exactly what we are proud to show to the PH community today. A huge thank you to all the agencies and their feedback. We have a goal of serving 100 customers by the end of the year and we are 20% there. As a celebration of our launch, you can use the code 'ProductHunt' for a 10% lifetime discount.

@ann_marie_sebastian Thank you Ann-Marie :)

@alokepillai congrats on the launch, this looks great. The workflow in the demo looks similar to the way we use Invision for design reviews internally but with the benefit of being on a live site. Will definitely look at using this for upcoming projects!

@stub91 Hey Stuart, thank you! That's great to hear. We love Invision. We hope to make website feedback as easy as how they made prototyping easier!

As a UX Consultant, using this tool with both developers and clients has saved me HOURS of billable time because we can get right down to the "PINS" and everyone can see the comments and iterations that have been made or are in progress. Definitely a must-have in the product development cycle.

Pros:

GOODBYE SCREENSHOTS & LONG EMAIL THREADS!

Hands down, easiest tool for getting feedback on live sites!

Cons:

None so far.

Congratulations on getting this out there - amazing to see a simple and clean way to have structured feedback around elements. I could see using this internally and PM/design teams as well as for freelancers to use to get feedback from clients.

@ericfriedman Thanks Eric!

YEEESH this is an awesome product. When I was running loads of web design projects, we desperately needed a tool like this to: 1. collect design feedback from a client 2. suggest web copy in-context 3. have project managers/designers collaborate One non-urgent feature that could be really great down the road is different permissions for different users. I could see wanting collaborators on a project to be able to see all comments, but want clients to only see select comments.

@mwil20 Hi Mike, thanks! Love the feature suggestion, we actually have something like that in the pipeline. :) Would love to chat about your experience, feel free to shoot me an email at haneef@usepastel.com

The product looks great guys! Your site looks a lot like Slack's new landing page, did you get inspiration from there? Regardless, great design!
Aloke
@chimptl Thanks Chinmay! Love the direction that web apps have taken by embracing illustrations and humanizing the use cases of a product. For what its worth, we had begun working on a visual language in July - gotta keep evolving though ;) Glad to hear you like it.
Thomas Leitermann
Love the idea and the actionable implementation! Also very helpful to quickly iterate on prototypes/mvps/landingpages during product discovery! :) It took me a minute to fully understand the product just from the website though. The video did the job then, but from the website I'd have had some questions on how it actually works...
Valentin Staykov
@thomasleiterman Thanks Thomas! The website is always evolving, good to know we can do a better job of communicating the value. Glad to hear you like the video :)

I've followed Pastel from the beginning and it's great to see how far the product has come. Awesome work guys and congrats on the launch!

@mimurchison Thanks Mike! :)

We use Pastel to process website feedback and update requests from our customers. It allows our non-technical users to be much more articulate than they would be otherwise. We automatically get screenshots, viewport size, browser information etc. alongside the customer's notes, all in a very organized manner. We previously handled this process with plain emails and I can't imagine going back!

Pros:

Smooth UX, easy onboarding, user friendly

Cons:

Haven't encountered anything show-stopping
