I forgot my son's medicine at 2am. So I built Owie.
Hi everyone. I'm Clark, a father of a 1 year and 7 month old son.
One night, my son had a fever. His medicine needed to be taken every 6 hours. At 2am, I fell asleep. I woke up at 5am — three hours late. My wife was crying. My son was crying. I felt like a terrible father.
That morning, I opened my laptop and asked myself: what if an app could just remind me?
I searched for existing baby tracker apps. Every single one had problems:
They require monthly subscriptions that poor families cannot afford.
They force you to create accounts and remember passwords.
They store your baby's data on their servers — who has access?
They don't let partners sync easily.
So I decided to build my own. I named it Owie — because parenting hurts sometimes. But Owie the owl is wise, calm, and always watching over your child's journey.
What makes Owie different:
No login required. Open the app and start tracking immediately.
Local-first storage. Your baby's data stays on your phone.
End-to-end encrypted family sync. Share with your partner privately.
One-time payment. No subscriptions. No hidden fees.
AI companion that checks in daily and celebrates milestones.
I built the first version for my son. Now I want to share it with other parents who are tired, forgetful, but deeply loving.
I am not here to sell anything. I am here to ask for your feedback:
Would you use an app like this for your child?
What features would you absolutely need?
Is local-only storage something you care about?
The app is fully built. The landing page is live. But I haven't published to Google Play or App Store yet because developer account fees cost money I don't have right now.
Your feedback will help me prioritize what to build next. And honestly? It will keep me motivated to finish this for my son — and for parents like us.
Thank you for reading my story.
