Hey all, I’m re launching VoiceNXT.com (formerly Oathly) after a lot of honest feedback.
Pain first
This is what I gathered:
Other tools:
Transcripts: Long and scattered, owners and dates easy to miss, people rarely read the whole thing
Surprise attendance/hard to remove bots: Multiple posts say the note-takers auto-join via calendar integrations and can keep popping into calls until support intervention; described as “creepy.”
Etiquette blowback from AI-note takers. Admins and PMs complain about auto-joining and emailing everyone on invites, causing tension with interviewees/externals.
Surprise sharing scope. Admins/users report transcripts/notes visible to all invitees by default (including externals) unless sharing is changed.
Covert recording without proper consent - litigation ongoing
Locked behind plans/admins. People want self-serve capture that isn’t gated by enterprise policies or add-ons.

Novelty tax: “Voice → pact” is new. People do not instantly know when to use it.
What is a Pact?
Social cost: Asking someone to record a conversation can feel heavy, even if you are privacy-first.
No single-player win. If value only appears when two or more people adopt, activation stalls.
Moment mismatch. Users do not wake up thinking 'I need a pact tool🤔.' They do hit moments where a quick agreement would help, or a voice note beautifully distilled into a plan. The job is to meet those moments.
Message drift. If the site or app still hints at legal-tech/corporate-enterprise vibes, users will assume it is overkill for everyday life.
The name ‘Oathly’, feels too serious for something geared for social-everyday.
Live transcription and intent popups during calls is noise; too distracting.
Unclear payoff: what do I actually get?
Participants could still invite their agents. The vibe didn’t change as promised.

How it works (three ways)
Live call (≤20 participants): Create → invite → talk naturally → review the Pact → share. Private by default. Host decides if/when to share the pact. No auto-blasting
