MyLexilingo - Practice any language you choose

Hello Everyone! I am excited (and a bit nervous) to share MyLexilingo on here. It was essentially a hobby project that went out of control and hopefully turned into something quite useful! About MyLexilingo I built MyLexilingo in order to help people learn "niche" or "longtail" languages, i.e. languages that are not commonly found on popular language apps. MyLexilingo allows you to start learning over 70 languages (learn any of those languages from any other supported language). There are predefined "Starter Kits" to get started. In addition, MyLexilingo uses a variety of popular LLMs to generate various exercises for you, based on your level and topic of choice, with almost near-infinite variety! So you are never at risk of learning phrases by heart or getting repeated content. MyLexilingo also provides feedback in your own language when things go wrong. Where MyLexilingo truly shines is that it allows you to upload your own content: a simple Google Sheet with words or phrases in the language your are trying to learn, and your own language. Then you can simply practice your content until you are confident in yourself, or use it as the basis to generate more similar exercises (flashcards, reading and listening exercises). This opens the door for teachers to give custom, interactive homework for their students to practice - and you do not need to rely to any AI features for it! The motivation behind it I can appreciate how difficult it is to learn a new language, i have done it a couple of times. What i have come to appreciate more is how challenging is to learn a language that is not so commonly spoken especially if you do not live in an environment where it is spoken. Finding suitable learning or practice material can be challenging, and even finding a practice buddy is tough. Someone who will sit next to you and with infinite patience ask you the same questions and words again and again until you are sure you have memorized all the things you set out to learn. I have seen people first hand struggling with this, myself included, so I tried to built something that would help. Pre-emptive FAQ Q: Why Google Sheets? A: Its easy to use, familiar, and you get too own and keep your data. Also easy to share with others! Q: Language learning with AI? Isn't that a bit risky? What is the chance it making a mistake? A: True, it is not perfect and on occasion it can make a mistake. However, when learing a language for which study material is hard to come by - the pros greatly outweigh the cons. For more popular languages, it is near-perfect! And also - models get better all the time, and the better they get, the better MyLexilingo will get too.
