After 8 years of working in tech, my biggest frustration has been following along with software engineers, data scientists, and honestly half the people in the room 🤷♂️
Turns out I’m not alone - 50% of professionals say jargon causes weekly misunderstandings and wasted time. Whether it’s corporate buzzwords (”boil the ocean”) or technical terms (”refactor the MCP server”), the result is always the same… confusion!

What I love about Simplora, and the team's vision, is that it helps people to connect better - so our precious time is spent with more value and efficiency, and not the standard corporate time drain...
It reminds me of something an old boss once told me - the junior person isn’t expected to know anything, and the most senior person is supposed to know it all. Spoiler: we’re all confused in meetings sometimes!
Jargon, complex language, tiredness, too much strategy etc. etc.
BUT, when we actually understand each other, that’s when the magic can happen!
My wife’s Brazilian, and even for her (and other non-native English speakers), getting through calls can be a mental tax with thick accents. So I love seeing tech that breaks down those barriers and makes collaboration more human and relatable.
In a world where AI can feel like it gets in the way, Simplora’s using it to get us on the same page - making meetings more inclusive, productive, and genuinely easier to learn from.

@dbul Beautifully said, Dan! It's way too easy to check out of a meeting if you can't keep up. Maybe it's due to complexity, unfamiliarity, or even a language barrier.. but either way, it's an uncomfortable and unfortunate experience.

Meeting agent is definitely what most of the professionals need! What platforms or meeting apps does it support so far? How does it collaborate with built in meeting tool like zoom meeting agent?

@cruise_chen We're integrated directly with Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams, but you can also capture Slack Huddles, Webex calls, etc directly from your device.
Simplora would replace your existing meeting assistant (e.g. Zoom companion) while offering additional benefits. For example, instead of having to prompt, Simplora automatically explains concepts, defines keywords, surfaces resources, suggests responses, and more.
Another example, instead of just generic notes, we actually personalize the notes based on your specific context, we suggest action items based on your role, and we build an evolving glossary of your keywords.
Last note: the biggest difference is that Simplora is designed for continuous learning and development based on conversations, whereas existing meeting assistants are simply designed for productivity.

It's a pretty nifty concept for freelancers, consultants, and agencies, especially ones like ours, which work with all kinds of different clients. At the beginning of every engagement, we put together a glossary to make sure we're on the same page as the client. I feel like this would help a ton!

How do you ensure the AI captures contextual intent (not just words) in live meetings especially when participants switch topics or interrupt each other?

@chrishicken There are two context layers to help account for this. The first layer is the context of the conversation itself and the second layer is the context for how you want the information to be explained to you.
You could have the conversation context and your own context be the same (e.g. advertising convo explained to an advertising manager), or you could have them be different (e.g. advertising convo explained to a sales manager).
You can customize each layer to be very specific or very broad. Simplora will then factor both layers into the guidance and explanations in order to arrive at the best possible output.
Also, since we're transcribing the full conversation in real-time and providing continuous analysis, interruptions are captured and the analysis will adjust accordingly.

Can I set topics that I want to collect / track? For example, I work on AI project development. With clients, we often discuss budgets. And I set a “goal” for the service so that it extracts such discussions from every conversation and keeps a database: day 3 — agreed on this, day 15 — on that, etc. And then for a specific topic I have a convenient summary table or something like that, where I can easily see all agreements related to a predefined topic?

@mykyta_semenov_ Great question! We currently provide a way for you to quickly view decisions that were made within a meeting, but not custom topic tracking across meetings. We are working on something similar where you’ll be able to review decisions made across a given period of time or across teams, but I’d be interested to hear more about how you would use custom topics for analysis and insights.
@jimmyloweryjr My pain point in the services business is losing agreements — especially around payments and deadlines. Clients often forget things, and then you have to prove something, dig through chats, or refer back to conversations. We even started recording all calls and storing a huge database of client video meetings so we can always go back and find something. But this problem still isn’t really solved for us.
And while working with American clients is usually fine — they pay hourly and disputes are very rare — with, for example, Dutch clients, budget disputes happen more often. These are already cultural differences.
I hope I’ve described my pain point in enough detail :)
